Ten thousand years to go to the next ice age and 100 million to the end of it all. Give or take a few zeros here and there.

    What Me Worry?

True or not all it means is the US starts growing mangos and bananas and Canada starts growing apples and pears or the other way around. Cyclical. Better to spend time getting San Jose California and much of the rest of the country to pick up the garbage cigarette butts included.

Wish I could give this more than a +1. Excellent comment. A major concern for me is the damage the "solution" could cause. Beyond the implications of Socialism and one world government we could potentially cause something that really is dangerous.

Recently, the Senate voted on whether global warming was caused by man. The vote showed that all democrats and liberals believed that it was. Almost all Republicans and conservative believe that mans activities are inconsequential in our global environment. Climate Science is political science. It is agenda driven.

I am a Mechanical Engineer, BSME, with 42 years of diverse experience. I understand the mechanisms by which heat is absorbed and reradiated from the Earth's surface.

I have evaluated the data and I have concluded that it is impossible to determine the actual temperature of the Earth with the degree of accuracy that they claim.

All Climate Scientists work for the government. They have created a problem in order to receive grants.

The United Nations hired this group of unethical scientists to come up with this problem.

The evil intention of the THEORY of Man-Caused Global Warming is to enable the governments ( or United Nations ) to gain control of the energy sector of our economy.

If we allow this to happen we will have lost all freedom and will be slaves to the government.

he flunked out of divinity school so he could not be a "priest" of a standard religion, so he seized upon a religon of his own to become a high priest of.

"they don't seem to believe in absolutes."

And that is the entire problem. EVERY situation to them is relative. The problem of course is that this is inherently a paradox. To state that "every situation is relative" is inherently a contradiction because one is trying to lay down an absolute rule saying that nothing conforms to a rule! It's liberal logic at its finest.

Throw in the fact that they would never dare impeach him for the same reason and you have our first King.

I agree obama isn't an idiot. He is well handled and is accomplishing his assignments. It was a billiant stroke to put a black man in office. Anyone who opposes him is a racist just because they oppose him.

I heard a very interesting thing on Glenn Beck the other night. He had a guest who had worked in high levels in the Federal Government for nearly twenty years, and his comment was stunning:

"Nothing happens in government that isn't planned. It takes too much work."

I don't believe Obama is an idiot. I believe he is dangerous, narcissistic, and evil. But ignorant? No.

I agree on the fact that we are lucky to have Obama because he has no clue of how to get things done. Just think what that fruitcake would have "accomplished" if he had any persuasive/negotiating skills whatsoever. Being a pompous, elitist, pedantic jerk has prevented him from making a much bigger mess. Hooray!!!
I liked the person Mitt Romney but really didn't want him to win because I do not agree with his philosophies. With his management skills, drive to accomplish his goals and willingness to accept consensus all I could see is more government, just with a different slant.

Gore is a joke but a lot of minions still follow him. I can't believe some people are pushing him to run for President again. Is it even conceivable that he could win?

I'm a musician, science is only my hobby (could never keep up with the math), but when I first heard of the Global Warming theory it collided with what I'd learned back in grade-school science class. Okay, the theory is/was that humans' burning lots of fossil fuels has put excess CO2 into the air, which reflects heat back toward the Earth.

Uh, excuse me, but isn't CO2 what plants inhale? So, to get rid of that excess CO2, what we should do is plant lots of big plants -- such as trees. We've already seen that deforestation has done a lot of harm to the natural environment, so replacing those forests would be a good idea anyway -- especially if those trees provide food for humans. So, what -- if anything -- the govt. should be doing about Global Warming is to encourage people to plant trees, maybe give tax-breaks to anyone who plants trees on their own land, possibly revive the old Civilian Conservation Corps (with a lot less bureaucracy) and hire all the able-bodied unemployed to go out and plant trees on govt. land. That would be the sensible solution, and thoroughly supported by "accepted science".

Well, do you see anybody doing that? No, instead we get the Al Gore solution, or the Kyoto Accords, which claimed that the US and the other western industrial nations must give up all manufacturing, all driving of IC vehicles, all raising of cattle -- and, one presumes, all exhaling. Somehow, these Accords aren't meant to be applied to China, India, or Japan.

How on Earth can anyone be taken in by this scam?! How could the peer-review group of the Pulitzer Prize be taken in by it? I can't believe that this many people have voluntarily surrendered their intelligence. The only other answer is that they've all bought into another agenda hidden under the ballyhoo -- or else they've been bought off, outright. Seriously, can you think of any other reason for this unreason?

I still like the video someone linked where the AR Institute showed that "climate" is a 30 year chunk, averaged out, and so the "climate change" theory is based on 5 data points. Where the huge number (thousands) shows we have had variations on the same order for 200,000 years now. Yes, there is some changes happening, but there are various reasons, and just hanging on one is not logical in the least.

"I will say again; 'climate change' has been happening for 4.6 billion years."
Everyone knows that. The earth had a period of subtropical conditions at the poles and possibly a period of gaciation on all land masses. We're now in an "ice age" with glacial maxima and minima occuring every 20,000 years are so. My home was glaciated 20,000 years ago.

" the free market would find the solution if the government stayed out of the way."
When someone is doing something that devalues another's property the free market depends on a gov't not staying out of the way. If I'm producing a chemical on my property that finds its way to your property and will cause you a problem in the future, the courts are there to stop me or find a way to make sure I make you whole for the loss of value.

There is more and more evidence (not sure if rises to "preponderance of the evidence") that our activities are causing harm in the future. We need to calculate that harm, prove/disprove it, and pay those harmed. The market will quickly find ways to eliminate the emissions of the harmful gases (if they're proven to be harmful) and/or to counter their effects.

I'm saying if there were a problem, which there is not, then the free market would find the solution if the government stayed out of the way. I will say again; 'climate change' has been happening for 4.6 billion years.

I said if it "*were* a real problem". I'm asking hypothetically. What would we do if the evidence did show a real problem? Or are you saying you would reject the evidence regardless because you do not like the final consequences?

Capitalism is an economic system. It has never been unfettered or uncontrolled and always the control is by the governments. It has on some occasions acted with a social conscience.

Socialism is a not an economic system until you get to Marxist-Leninist Economics. Even then it's not an economic system. It is a belief system that operates on faith. As Lenin put it you can't teach it it must be preached then taken on faith. In the area of economics it has always been a failure and that includes in the USA.

Governments produce nothing. Their true task is to ensure others can produce and then protect those others who do produce. For the most part it leeches, mooches, and loots but not every where.

Fascism is a system wherein governments control the population by any means necessary. It may be more than political. It may be religious as well as secular.

Liberal means making large changes rapidly. Conservative means making haste slowly.

Left means Government control of the population

Right means the population as the source of all power and all rights control the government thus replacing the divine right of Kings for example.

Anarchists are the extremists of the right wing.
Hard core fascist governments such as the Internationally oriented Communists and the Nationally oriented Nazis are the extremists of the left. The Pol Pots.

Both Republicans and Democrats are left of center. They just like to let you think the center is between the two of them. It isn't. They both believe in Government control of citizens. The belief can be bad or good depending on the intensity and distance from center

.Skipping all the rest Some nations such as NZ and Sweden and perhaps Switzerland and more lately China have learned to meld the best of both systems using capitalism to financially support socialism. Capitalism with a social conscience or Socialism with a capitalist economic system. Same Same

The US of course hasn't progressed that far.

Gore is a combination looter moooo-cher and a full time joke.

I added the o's to honor his noxious gaseous releases which probably do more to harm mothere nature than all the cows in history. .
