"Must be present to win." Sometimes, putting on the suit of armor and going out into the field is a victory unto itself. My opponents are almost always bigger and stronger than I am. Some of them are bigger and stronger than my car! (OK, maybe not...) Nowadays my opponents are also half to a third my age.

I have rarely hesitated to stand toe-to-toe with the biggest and best of them and try to bash them in the head. Often I loose. Perhaps all I have done in that fight is 'define matter' (has mass; occupies space), but I am out there and approx 7 billion people are not.

No laughing matter? I take "only" 20 pills a day and in my present condition probably couldn't make a quarter court shot. However, I'm still here and so is the guy who missed his $million. My wife claims that I'll probably be crabbing away for 2 days after I die. C'mon, you gotta have a sense of humor about these things.

And then another side to the story... Suppose it was someone completely healthy and normal that just couldn't throw the ball that far? I doubt I could do it anymore, but I'd sure give it a try.

It's like when someone falls down on their face or cracks their head on the ground. Too many people today point and laugh hysterically. I cringe, because I know how much it can hurt or what damage it can do.

Take Ferguson, what would you do in a similar situation, a big guy coming to take you apart that had recently punched you in the face and tried to take your gun?

It seems that people really like to watch people screw up. We laugh and point. And, the most important thing in our society just might be sports. But, there's so much more.

After my history I was sure my son would be a stud football player. Ends up he became very ill and permanently disabled. I have gotten to know so many other kids like him just in our community. Deep down, his athletic future wasn't all that important to me so I didn't kill myself over it. But, in the case of this man in the video, I can just imagine the internet trolls really pumping themselves up over it. You see that all the time.

The one thing I did learn that was a huge positive is that not everybody gets to score a thrilling touchdown in front of thousands of screaming fans. I had actually kind of taken that for granted in my life for a long time. It was like I assumed all you had to do was try hard enough and you were in. Not so...
