Valerian root didn't seem to do anything for me. Maybe it wasn't fresh enough. Or maybe it's just not that powerful compared to other bad habits out there..

I didn't get the part at 2:10 where she takes a sleep aid, puts on a blindfold, and then lies on the couch. I guess they're saying you can sleep anywhere.

I was thinking this probably is much worse than the traditional alprazolam and scotch until the second sentence where it mentions the human liver.

LOL...I'm an old guy. I'm going to wake up in the middle of the night regardless. At least I'd BETTER wake up in the middle of the night!

Oh, yes. For many years. I read an article recently that said the 8 hours in a row of solid sleep is not a normal pattern for humans. It said that before good artificial light humans would sleep 4 hours or so, then be up a few hours, then sleep another 4 hours. I know sleeping a solid 8 hours is very unusual for me, and I'm so stubborn I don't like to take anything, but valerian does seem to work best.

Wow. I never heard that about melatonin. I know it doesn't work for me. I like valerian much better. Just swallow it fast!

correction, please. Melatonin works as a sleep aid for many people; for others, it acts like speed.
Get some nose-plugs and rubber gloves and try Valerian. The reason for the protective gear is that it smells TERRIBLE!!!! Some people actually make it into a tea, but I don't know how they manage. I have serious sleep problems, so I take 4 or 5 capsules an hour before bedtime and collapse. I get a good night's sleep and wake up feeling as good as I ever do. You wouldn't want to spray this under your tongue, though - it would be awful.

They've had an under the tongue spray for a while. The idea being to bypass the GI system. Melatonin works, but it is short-lived, so be prepared to wake up in the middle of the night
