They finally got to the Hank Rearden of the Lead Ore smelting industry. (golf clap for the Left) What I'd like to know is, what are the future plans of the current producers of the soon-to-be shutdown company? Surely they're not going to go home & sit down to watch CNN's endless repeat of Ovomit care & the website shenanigans? I'm thinking they'll find another place to set up shop & bring jobs. Canada? Who here in the Gulch knows something about mining lead ore? Obviously, that industry too must be effected too.

(music)...He's gonna change it, and rearrange it....This is absolute power in action.

Lol. I’m trying to be funny. The liberals think they have cornered the market on healthy living and hand out our taxpayer monies to pet projects to promote a sustainable future. They would never in a million years think to allow an ammunition business to benefit from a program of reform.

Obama didn’t start this, is what the article was saying that Rocky posted. I would like to know if there is any difference in a ‘pure’ lead bullet and a recycled one? We’ve got to have somebody around here who could answer this.

Don't know answer about first question. Good questions though. I'm going to dig a little deeper tomorrow & see what I can find.

Isn’t this a green-living project? How come we can’t subsidize this company, so they could make the necessary changes?

I'd like to know more about the owner(s) too. I just don't believe they'll simply fold & quit their passion. I wonder if the EPA goons had offered them a choice to close it or to 'hand it over' to someone in the EPA by signing a certificate...reality mirroring fiction?

I agree that the EPA is being 'used' to cripple our economy, and to defeat any hopes of being energy independent. It has been my belief for some time now, that our domestic communists have taken over the environmental movement for nefarious reasons....

Although that's obviously good news, the sad fact is we no longer smelt lead in this country after 31 Dec 2013. Who wants to take bets when we no longer have coal-powered energy plants?

My point is Ovomit is going after (via the EPA in this example) producers. To see where this ends, Venezuelans lost power last night. They are what we can look forward to if no one can stop this madness.

Read this deeper article about the closure:
"President Obama had little, if anything, to do with the longstanding battle between the EPA and the Doe Run Company. Further, if one is to take ammunition manufactures at their word, it does not appear that the Herculaneum closure will have any affect on the availability of ammunition in the United States."

I can’t believe I hadn’t heard of this. I can’t believe people on this website haven’t been talking about it. Isn't’ this huge? Couldn’t this also be a reason Homeland Security was buying up all that ammo? If the plant closes and they find some way to place some type of special tariffs on imports, making importing ridiculously expensive, they will disarm us by default. Three years. Unbelievable. I want to know more about this company and wether or not the owner would consider going back into business if we can address this matter.I think the next government should subsidize the changes for this industry. I mean, green-living is something the liberals want to invest, right? I would love to watch this socialist’s collective-heads explode.
