"I do not ask that you place hands upon the tyrant to topple him over, but simply that you support him no longer; then you will behold him, like a great Colossus whose pedestal has been pulled away, fall of his own weight and break in pieces."

Indeed. Been reading a Harry Turtledove series United States of Atlantis. Part inspiration on liberty and part realistic view of the horrors of war even when carried on in pursuit of independence from dictatorship. (Not level of quality of AS, but entertaining and linked to American history.) Haven't read or seen 50 shades.

I can think of other more entertaining distractions. Shooting my Model 1795 flintlock...Assassins Creed series...The Last Of Us (Got PS3 or 4?), reading books by Gary Allen.

And finally...enjoying the articles posted in Galts Gulch. No need for 50 shades. Just sayin'.

Not interested in the state backed version either. Unfortunately, the consequences of opting out are very difficult and economically detrimental. (Refusing social securtity programs on any grounds mean employment is not available thanks to "voluntary" compliance of employers. In addition, no credit or debit cards, no bank account, no federal passport makes convenient modern life impossible. Freedom comes at a high cost.)

Strangely, this is one of the books (and movies) I have no interest in partaking in. None whatsoever.

More feed for the brain dead, pabulum for those of little mind, and a convenient distraction from the reality surrounding us.
