"[Thanksgiving] is a producers’ holiday. The lavish meal is a symbol of the fact that abundant consumption is the result and reward of production. Abundance is (or was and ought to be) America’s pride—just as it is the pride of American parents that their children need never know starvation." - Ayn Rand

- 1Posted by $ Susanne 12 years, 6 months agoI agree, Scott... and the feast is in itself a way of giving thanks for the prosperity we have enjoyed over the past year... Also, it is a chance to selectively share that prosperity, that success, with those of our choosing in the manner in which we wish to share it... we are not coerced into who we must help, nor ordereed to be our brother's keeper (even tho is we so choose to freely do so, there are indeed opportunities to give), but enjoy the feast and times with those who mean the most to us... Happy Thanksgiving, and a prosperous season to all!| Mark as read | Best of... | Permalink
