Someone tell this guy he doesn't know what faith means:

"Today’s Republicans are a faith-based party, but not as the term is commonly understood. Their faith is Randian libertarianism—a belief that may sustain a novel, but has never yet sustained a country."

    Two things:
#1 I find very few Republicans who even know of Rand or her philosophy.
#2 What country has ever adopted such a philosophy, so as to point to it as a failure?
The piece is collectivist, progressive drivel…
    O.A.

The US adopted this from its inception through the end of the 19th century. Even in the early 20th century when we attempted to put social security in place it was declared unconstitutional before it even got through congress by comments from the suppreme court, why? Because people were forced to participate in a requirement plan. When they did finally pass it, they had to make it optional to participate because it otherwise trampled on the rights of the individual. How quickly the progrssives/colectivists have been able to erode the general understanding of the purpose of the constitution and government, to protect the rights of the individual, not some self defined collective.
