Interesting, possibly true. jesse Ventura has appeared to try to provide an honest review of some stuff in his previous series, but I have to question someone who lives in Baja, off the grid. But then that may be his version of a Gulch...

Very well said. Seems to sum it up nicely. I agree with your observation about the patriotism thing, many times it has been used to justify the unjustifiable.

I'm just not sure about the whole Jesse Ventura /Kyle stuff. His lawsuit was a defamation lawsuit filed before Kyle died. He denied the event ever took place, and a jury agreed that the event did not take place. For Ventura, interaction with Kyle was personal. so one might expect him to be negative. I haven't seen the movie, I know little about Kyle. I trust the accounts that came out of war. I also can wonder if his heroism can be tainted by adjusting to life after war. sometimes. many times not. His death was tragic and his service important. The success of the movie is undisputed and his family must be very proud. I wonder sometimes if patriotism clouds our ability to discern the truth. Patriotism can be kind of like a fever.

    Could happen, ya know... :-)

Hey, I got more accurate and timely news about the US when we were in Italy... than we see here. Relies on not being dependent on the Infotainment industry's politically governed allowable feed... While some networks in other countries have an obvious political bias to their reporting, you learn to separate the wheat from the chaff. Here, you have to figure out what political message the Sheep-programmers are spewing, and realize it's so convoluted you can't get the truth, because, to paraphrase Colonel Jessup, "(they) can't handle the truth."

A friend of $5Au's tried going Galt in Costa Rica. He was kidnapped, held for ransom, beaten severely, and dumped on a street. Has permanent brain damage.

Khaling, well and good, but you don't run a political commentary show do you? And live in Baja off the grid and rely on the internet? My point is I am not sure he has good data to base his facts on. Not that living out of the country is bad, I have been tempted to look at Costa Rica, I hear it is very nice there, and they appreciate people, still.

I know nothing of Ventura, but I live out of the country and I think I 'm pretty tapped into current events. A helluva lot more than the sheeple. I don 't see it as a big discreditor. I left because I DO care about my country.

Another point to remember here is the article is mostly about his dust up with Kyle. It sounds like he has a grudge. While there may be factual issues at play with Kyle, you cannot deny he served his country, and did some things a lot of people would not. Whether they are moral or right is a whole 'nother topic. He states he is not honorable in the context of the tiff they had, and I don't think that was justifiable.

Nice point. I do think a lot of this lies in his dust up with the guy that is called out in the article.

If you cannot find a place within your own borders, and have to pontificate from afar, that tends to raise the question of how much you are involved in what is going on. Granted there are lots of ex-pats who live abroad, that is not the issue, it is the fact he runs a political talk show from his location that is not clear to me. I question the accuracy of someone who is not on the scene. It tends to disconnect you as the only source of information is what you get through the media and the internet, and I don't think they represent a good source of factual data.

He lives in Mexico. I think he knits and sells socks with his image on them. I am ordering from Amazon as soon as they list them.
