I am very interested in the work of Rand and bridging it to my work with the poor. The common ground is Aristotle and how we incentivise people to act.

Welcome to the Gulch, Jakob. I would love to hear how you have helped individuals to better themselves.

It does seem that schools have become day care centers where the left indoctrinates young minds. We have had some interesting discussions in the Gulch concerning Religion and Objectivism. I look forward to reading your comments.

Regarding my religious beliefs, she would say, what good would it do to oppose it, she can't convince me otherwise.

As for looking for being concerned for the least advantaged in our society that is at the heart of Objectivism. If Objectivism was for the rich and powerful and it was used as a tool to keep it that way, it would have no ethical value. Instead Rand's philosophy was for the protection of the individual. That no man would be sacrificed for the good of the whole. That is at the heart of my work with the poor.

Today we warehouse the poor in public schools and in government housing. We incentivise people to become dependents and not to live a free life. Jesus came to call us to freedom and to life. Man does not live by bread alone.

Welcome to the Gulch. As long as you are helping the poor of your own free will I don't see a contradiction. Do you think Ayn Rand would oppose what you do?
