It's all a power grab. And if people are programmed to not remember history, then the lessons of the past can be used as tools. It seems... that some are working VERY hard to obscure or obliterate history, so the mistakes which will, by default, again happen can be thoroughly exploited by those who wish to loot us of our very freedoms.
What a great post NMA. Those who have come to America for freedom, so appreciate what they didn't have in their own country. Freedom is the most important possession we have and it needs to be protected more than any gold at Fort Knox.... I have a great respect for those who legally went through the naturalization process to become a citizen. A true and great American..clap, clap, clap !!
The implements of murder should be less of a concern to us than the motive behind the murder. Outlawing implements is an intellectually bankrupt solution because the criminal or deranged mind does not recognize or obey legal proscriptions.
The continued obsession with implement control championed by progressive Democrats suggests that they themselves are deranged. It's been said that the definition of insane is 'repeating the same mistake over and over again and expecting different results'.
Gun control schemes have been around for about a 145 years. First instituted by post Civil War reconstruction era southern state governments in an attempt to intimidate black Americans from practicing their new found rights, you'd think that by now the Feinsteins, Schumers, Bloombergs, and yes, the O'bamas of the nation, would have at last acknowledged the failure of this approach to deal with pathological behavior. Apparently not! This is why I suspect that liberalism is a form of mental disease itself.
I believe, that in their pursuit of expunging the concept of unalienable rights they are equally obtuse about why the 2nd Amendment was insisted upon by many States, before they would ratify the new Constitution.
They did not trust King George and they had no way of knowing whether they could, in the long run, TRUST the United States Federal government to protect their new and hard won freedoms.
Again, it appears the Founders were profoundly intelligent and intuitive.
