The thing that struck me is that first he admits that institutional problems exist and that the system is untenable. But then he denies there is a crisis.

Methinks, Sir Bruce thou doth protest too much.

    Unless Obamacare is repealed or blocked by the Supreme Court, I fear you are correct.

    Two or three years ago one big local system, I think it was Leicestershire, uncovered a few hundred cases of deliberately caused fatalities in a major hospital. It took a while to uncover only because government data systems were so opaque.
    As benefits increase, and costs to the users decrease, costs to the government increase at a fast rate. Typical of any system designed for those who work in it rather than those who pay for it.
    Meltdown- the trick of quantitative easing postpones but cannot avoid the day.
