NSSF: Fatal Firearm Accident Comparisons

Apparently these guys started keeping data records sometime in the early 1900's and conclude:

"The accidental fatal firearm rate has dropped by 94% since we started keeping statistics, even though the total number of firearms per capita has likely at least doubled."

But remember, these are 'unintentional accidental' shootings. I wonder what it would be if it included intentional shootings from murder and armed robberies, and shootings by cops?

But regardless, these numbers put to shame the scare tactics utilized by anti-gun nuts.

Intentional shootings with legally owned firearms (excluding felons) would be interesting. then splitting out suspected gang activity and drug related shootings would be even more revealing.
Not that the anti gun people would give a damn if they are proven wrong. After all most of them are irrational by definition.

Yes, but I suspect even total deaths by shootings, all in, compared to other causes is quite a bit smaller.

Including intentional shootings would be an unreasonable lumping. The very low number of unintentional accidental shootings points out the lunacy of the excessive number of gun restrictions on law-abiding citizens.
