I won't call any leftist "liberal" OR "progressive". They are dead-set against both liberty and progress.

Everybody in national politics gets trash talked. Palin has shown she can't take it, so she shouldn't be a candidate again.

But I'd marry her in a heartbeat. Or subscribe if she gets her own TV show.

Agreed. I usually say progressive instead of liberal but for some silly reason failed this time. My bad.

Makes communicating clearly problematic - one of the objectives of the thought police and use of double-speak.

It sounds like we are in agreement. Yes I was using the word liberal in the bastardized meaning.

Actually, Ed, most conservatives are not socially liberal (that would mean that they advocate for more liberty on social issues, not less). They are economically liberal. And of course, I use the term "liberal" in the classical meaning - as in liberty, not the bastardized current meaning of socialist/progressive.

I like your original position of "constitutional libertarian." What the Constitution spells out for powers, nothing more, and all else is up to the states/individuals.

    Yes -- disaster A or disaster B?
Both need to be discarded NOW!

I am not sure that is possible. The trouble I have with conservatives is most are socially liberal. That leads to more programs and less individual freedom. I believe that a constitutional libertarian is the best choice because they believe in a very limited government, the rule of law and hold individuals right to choose in very high esteem. Personally I feel electing people with these values is the best choice if we are to ever get back to the original founders vision for America.

I agree! Personally I prefer a constitutional libertarian. They believe in a limited government and individual freedom to make their own choices.

When they feel enough pain. IMHO it has to get much worse before it is ever going to get better.

    these power-hungry people disgust me. -- j

p.s. Washington took the job reluctantly, to
perpetuate the goodness in the nation,
and he could see it clearly. . can anyone
in power see that value, now???

I concur...however the current atmosphere of fear and reaction in this country is much more "flight" than "fight".

Hear ye, hear ye, peons of the vassal states! Hear ye!,
Hear ye to know ye that two great royal houses shall contend for the crown in the Year of Our Lord 2016.
Who shall rule the Oval Office Throne? Which pair of pants shall it be?

Absolutely NO MORE Clintons or Bushs in the White House, time for a truly Conservative change and they ain't it.

i think it is irrelevant which of them wins, we are already on the road to socialism/fascism and neither of them would ever try and stop it.
when the economy collapses their money will not have any value either.
