Do we have any candidates who actually do want to simplify government? We can only vote for the people that run; that's part of the problem.

I've thought for some time now that Congress (at least the House) should probably not be an elected position. Make it like jury duty - you get a notice in the mail, and think "oh, crap, I have to go be in Congress for two years."

Could the results be any worse than the mess we're in now?

Start voting for people who will simplify Government. Roughly 90% of the statutes ["laws" that are not Common Laws] are not needed.
Interfere with someones rights that is breaking the law, not some politicians idea of what they think you should do.

I think any violation may be punishable by death now. Is that about right?... Well, that's one way to not burden the courts so much, I suppose.
