My guess re his continued missing appendages is he whacked them off which his mishandled, misguided axe... Shouldn't have attacked that kindling au naturale...

What I kinda sorta want to know is this - Since when did life become a flipping costume party?

Until a decade or so ago when 'comfortable' became the new rage... Damn!

Didn't say or mean that... 'comfortable' is fine... but many took that to the 'sloppy' extreme.
            Like many guys have....

Around the early 1970s, I was the first guy in my engineering department to lose the narrow black tie and go to the more au-courant colored and wider ties. Others followed.
Some time in the late 80s, I lost the suit-and-tie costume for customer visits and on-site presentations, and the customers appreciated that, too, since they had wanted to lose the monkey-suits and formality so that real work and communication could happen without the facades.
I only wore a suit and tie for customer presentations where serious cultural standards had to be met... some corporate guests from Europe and the Far East saw me in that garb, but as soon as the presentation was over and I headed back to my cubie, I lost the tie and jacket.
Ah, me... such a maverick. In my own mind, anyway... :)

Seen a few around Seattle. The beards are thin and fuzzy. The hands are probably too soft. They will have no wood cutting skills.
To me one of the joys of being a man was the simplicity. Shower, shave, comb my hair, throw on some clothes, wallet, and keys. I am ready for anything. What man would consider whether or not his plaid was in season?

What ever happened to a man who was comfortable in his own skin, rather than following some fashion fad? Serious - if you work in an office, LOOK like you work in an office. If you work in the woods, then look like you work in the woods. This is no different than that silly "urban cowboy" fad that took hold in the City years ago - boys following the dress-up fashion mags instead of (--gasp!--) being men..

I do have to say, tho... at least they disbanded the manskirt (NOT a kilt, which IMO is totally sexy as heck - a flipping skirt) and man-purse look... I can be pretty open to someone's choice of dress, but every time I saw that it kinda made my stomach lurch when I saw it.

I was stationed in Lubbock Tx in the late 80''s. Big hats..no cows. One of these "urban cowboys" was giving me a little grief about my sneakers. So...I had to ask...did he know the origin of his "boots"??? He wasn't too clear on this point. So...I explained the circumstance of shepherds and the need for a taller "upper" to keep dew from saturating their leggings. I then began to expound on the secondary purpose....to keep the sheep's legs constrained.....and the fight was on!

In the NYC area a "beard" is someone taking the place of someone else. Every time I see a guy with a beard, I wonder, "What are you hiding?" The possible exceptions are those Duck Dynasty people, but even then those duckers seem to always be in disguise.

Those are actually an affectation for the TV show. They weren't like that prior to the show. That show backfired on the producers. They expected to be making fun of these backwards hicks. Backfired them all the way to the bank, 'though!

They weren't the stupid backwoods hicks those producers assumed them to be. They assumed anyone not from the LA/NYC urban snakepit areas to be some goofball Larry, Darryl, and the other brother Darryl with an IQ in the single digits, and exploitable... not someone who had good business sense and the ability to exploit an opportunity dropped in their laps.

All the way to the bank, baby! I didn't watch the show at the beginning thinking it was just going to be some Hollywood a-holes making fun of the Louisiana hicks. Don't remember who clued me in, but I ended up tuning in one night, and was blown away at the display of common sense, Midwest type values and non-vulgar humor, and I've been a fan ever since.

what is the constant attraction to sexuality? one day you post that young men and women are keeping their distance from each other now its sexuality based upon what you wear on your body and face. how is this going to change any aspect of the world we live in? who cares? me thinks it is getting boring! let the washington and hollywood type saturate themselves with this discussion.
