Living in Australia, I pre-ordered the DVD with my fingers crossed in the hope it would arrive before a family holiday this January. Not only that, but postage cost almost as much as the movie.
I definitely would've saved the hassle and saved my money, and just bought the digital version if I knew it was going to be available before Christmas.
As an extra annoyance that you probably didn't consider, we haven't seen the movie yet because it wasn't shown at the cinemas here. So now I'll be waiting several weeks to see it for the first time on DVD, over the holiday period, when the movie is available to me to watch right now if I essentially pay for it a third time.
I'd been ok renting it to watch earlier. But I'm not buying it twice.
