Should this paramedic be disciplined? No, he has a right to free speech.

But I wouldn't want to be him and be responding to a dangerous shooting scene.

I can't agree that it was a threat. Nor can you point to this instigating the NYPD executions.

Repugnant views and threats aren't the same thing. Oh... some cops were just murdered in their patrol car, by the way.

Yes, perhaps an evaluation on suitability for the job would be appropriate. Not as retaliation, but as a basic function of whether these views are consistent with the expectations for job performance. If presented with a wounded police officer, would this paramedic do what was needed to care for them?

Yet, free speech is meant to protect those things that we find offensive/repugnant. I don't condone the message, but must protect his right to say it lest my right to express my "repugnant" views on freedom and liberty be stifled.

That is a visual threat. It is condoning what it depicts. And the paramedic is a liar.

The paramedic says that he did not mean to hurt his brothers in blue or offend anyone??? Congressional Record! He did both, and meant both, and probably still means both.
He does have a right to free speech, and I would propose an evaluation as to whether he is appropriate in his current job, just as anyone else would be if they said something threatening aimed at the police. or the paramedics.
