Yes, I know… it is easy to denigrate the "Muslim-Marxist Liar-in-Chief." You give him too much credit. He is just an empty suit speaking for the government. You know, in "The West Wing" series, they were all Democrats - except for Aimsley Hayes and Joe Quincy. White House Chief of Staff Leo McGary served in Viet Nam as a pilot and among his jobs in the plots was to be the advocate for the military. Press Secretary C J Craig graduated from Berkeley but wanted CIA operatives disguised as waiters to kill terrorists. That is more in line with the actual government than the caricatures from the Irrationalists on the far right. In this case, President Obama was only doing his job, reading the lines written for him. Maybe he believed them. (I like to think that he did. Liberals don't care what you believe as long as you pay your taxes.) But it does not matter. In the Voice of President, the United States raised a strategic finger to North Korea.

I'm trying to follow here. Are you saying that the ideological make up of a fictitious TV show trying to appeal to a broad audience is an accurate portrayal of the current administration?
I enjoyed the show. It was hard to imagine that these thoughtful and benevolent administrators in the White House would encourage or sanction such efforts as popping off the "w's" on computer keyboards. I'd like to say that "empty suit" is only in charge of such trivial decisions. However, he is the leader of the semi-free world. Let's see what memorandum he decrees over the Christmas holiday in between rounds of gulf, which will affect my freedoms come Jan 1

Albeit reading his monitors carefully, President Obama said exactly the right thing. We will not let a foreign dictator set the limits of discourse in the United States. (See from the 2:27 mark on this C-Span video.) Moreover, he said that it would be worse for a producer or director to not create a message "for fear of offending the sensibilities of somebody whose sensibilities maybe need offending."
