I'm willing to bet everyone here in the Gulch has read/owns at least ONE of the books mentioned. =) I like the choices.

Road to Serfdom - Excellent read, not nearly as hard to get through as Adam Smiths Wealth of Nations but I would recommend both books.

Atlas Shrugged - Never heard of it :)

Anatomy of the State - I have a new book to buy and read. IT sounds awesome from the description

I cannot state how much I liked Adventure Capitalism in words. Excellent book and I recommend it to anyone that would like to have some understanding of the world economy and capitalism.

Currency Wars - A second book to add to my reading list.

Daemon and then freedom - A third book to add. The description looks awesome for some fun reading.

Dam you UncommonSense, I already have a list of books I have not gotten to. Now there are 3 more on it.

In reality thanks for the post, good books seem fewer and fewer, so having 3 highly recommended ones to read is a great thing..

Jim Rogers earlier book Investment Biker is probably a better first read because he makes lots of observations/predictions. I liked it better than Adventure Capitalist. One can judge his ability by the results. (Jim would probably reply that the world is always changing and investment predictions have to change along with it.)

Disappointed in Jim Rogers. Followed his advice on commodities and got burned.
