Presumably many people here will not share his optimism, but I think he made some valid points :-)

    Jeb wants to be the next president. Judging by the way presidents are installed and no longer elected, this should be so. Ever seen "Good Shepherd" movie?

    selfish, you got a point for "filling the potholes" code for increasing the deficit. repeat after me. NO MORE BUSHES! caveat: the political ones. I think I've covered at least three bases here. :)

    I agree with Jeb that 'government should fill the potholes'. And, while he was somewhat circumspect in discussing a reassessment of the traditional Republican message, the Party must, in essense, embrace libertarian domestic policy and get out of the business of legislating morality. Leave that to the Democratics and, perhaps, we can induce women, African-Americans , and Hispanics, among other disaffected groups, to begin to understand and support the principles of individualism and limited government.
