The gif in the article is absolutely beautiful :') I'm a recent college grad and we covered Picker-bots in Operations Management and a couple of my Logistics courses. We also covered the side effects of automation and outsourcing (like 3PLs). In all seriousness, basically what automation does is displace jobs, not eliminate them. While they won't be picking items and walking marathon distances anymore, they can always apply for a skilled position in a company that services the picker-bots.
