If my next client gets closed on, it looks like I will. Technically, Marlborough but will fly through Logan.

Japanese Beer? Yebisu or Hitachino's Nest (cedar cask, just magical) is the only thing (not sake), worth drinking.

Robbie, you need to come out to Boston!

Yes, gluwine is nice. And the Christmas ornament stores are awesome. Nutcrackers and Swarovski crystal ornaments, heavenly.

Yes, I have been there a few times. Good beer. Also love walking Munich downtown around at Xmas time, looking at the street vendor wares and drinking Gluwine (sp?). Beautiful time!...even for Dawkins-types like me.

If we're going to Japan, I prefer Asahi. A dry beer. Used to like Michelob Dry, but they stopped making it.

I was just talking with a friend/drinking buddy the other day about how lucky we are to be in California - in terms of beer and wine. After decades of hard research I have come to the conclusion that we may have the world's greatest wine. I need to do a little more research on Chile. Our beers are incredible.

Agreed. Belgians are a little like craft brews in their diversity, but they don't change much. As usual the 'Mericans get in there and just disrupt everything.
Weisse/wheat/white beers have become very popular. Wish I liked them, but prefer regular barley & rye malt beers, particularly dark ones.

Don't order a Yuengling down in Tampa. They make it with local water, and it's terrible. The PA brews are quite good.

The export Europeans are pedantic, but the local German and Belgian brews are quite good. I'm no longer into bubbles, but back in the day I tipped quite a few local brews. I was particularly fond of Weisse Beer - just something about the body that is quite appealing.

While Hamms and Grain Belt are true mid-west Beers, only Schells is an authentic historical brewery. They still brew excellent German type beers.

So many good Pumpkin Ales now.

Another great is a Black-O-Lantern - a black and tan with a pumpkin ale. Even nicer with a little vanilla vodka in it, as is a basic pumpkin ale. Smooths out the flavor beautifully.

Shipyard's Smashed Pumpkin is popular here. Pumple Drumkin (Cisco) is great too.

Sorry, very busy at work. Can't do the daytime responses, these days.

When I was ~25 My buddy and I drank like 100 Grolsch's over the summer and swiped the bottles (nice stopper types) to make our own beer. No time for that now. However presently, I am drinking the larger bottles to happily support another friend-brewer who wants to reduce the number of bottles to wash/fill. Hope to get a few in exchange. It is a little like having a friend with a boat, being better than having a boat.

If you and DB, or any other Gulchers make it to New England, I will happily host a beer tasting!
