Why don’t we have someone like you that truly appreciates the spirit of the Constitution on the high court?

Are there any countries out there, in your opinion, that do a better job than the USA in respecting and protecting natural individual freedoms? While I am not yet ready to emigrate, there may come a day when those of us who cherish freedom see no better alternative, as much as that pains me to say...

I'm not sure how much personal latitude you get at Fox, so how much would you like to say that might bring up contractual issues?

There is some odd stuff about Texas, such as they are not interconnected with the power grid (much to Boone Pickens chagrin with his wind farm idea), though that is all state-level legislated action, but the right of secession is not one of them.

What issue do you think could best coalesce conservative Americans?
Who would you suggest to lead this unification?

    *****************
"What I do say is that no man is good enough to govern another man without that other's consent. I say this is the leading principle, the sheet-anchor of American republicanism. Our Declaration of Independence says: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: That all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed."
    - - - Abraham Lincoln, Speech at Peoria, Illinois (1854)
    http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Abraham_lin...

As Lincoln reminds us, under the republican form, NO MAN (nor American government) is good enough to govern you without your consent.

Could you list a few ways that we unknowingly give CONSENT to be governed, and thus waive rights?

And how can one WITHDRAW CONSENT, and restore endowed rights?

Judge, if a Conservative President wanted to nominate you to the Supreme Court, would you be interested in the position?

    Judge,

Do you think it is possible that democracy - even a republican style representative democracy such as that provided for by our Constitution - simply doesn't scale?

Is it safe to say at this point that a nation the size of ours, growing in population every day, simply is ungovernable by a Constitution such as we currently have?

Mine is a legal question. How can you change in midstream the legal definition of a word that has been defined in the law dictionaries for at least a couple hundred of years? These definitions are used by law makers so that the clear intent of the law is understood. Who knows how many of thousands of laws were made using that specific term and what impact it could have after you change the meaning. Would it not make all previous laws using that term null and void or, at best, that none of them would apply going forward after the change, IE: none of the previous laws would apply to anyone who gets "married" after the definition change?

What are your thoughts on a Constitutional Convention ("Con-Con" or Article 5). Some see it as "the only solution" (how can it get any worse) while others worry about a "run-away convention" where something like FDR's "Second of Rights" gets introduced.

    "Administrative Law" v. "Constitutional Law"

Q: Are there legitimate arguments that can be made in court for violating the former in defense of the later?

Followup: Can individuals successfully argue those claims?

    Thank you!

Have the American people consented to socialism (and given up the republican form of government) via participation in the social security system?

With regard to the immense power wielded by regulatory agencies, can you first explain the concept of Administrative Law, its beginnings in our society, whether or not it's constitutional and its inherent dangers?

I always enjoy your detailed and logical analysis on the radio and TV. I'm looking forward to reading your book. Is it too late for America to get out of the ditch? What will it take to wake up Americans?

Hypocrisy was at its finest when the folks in congress said that the Georgian people should be able to decide for themselves their destiny and not Russia. Yet we are not allowed this privilege here in the states. If you agree that we will have sections of the country to secede when do you think that this will happen and how it will come about.

In August of this year, my family and I relocated from Connecticut (The People's Republic of Connecticut) to Wyoming.
The choice was due to a number of economic and liberty based realities: the poor economy and job market, the overbearing taxes, zero (I repeat) zero representation of my opinions, the reactionary gun laws, and the Ruling Class attitude of contempt toward people who think as I do,

In January of the previous year, I addressed the Connecticut legislature in their required, pro-forma exercise in which they pretended that they were listening to the concerns of the people over the newly proposed reactionary gun laws.
In that address, I told them bluntly that if they passed their proposed laws that they could "say good-bye to your tax base".

Many studied have shown that my warning was not baseless, the deeply Democrat run states are depopulating of the inconvenient Country Class taxpayers.

Again, do the D.C. Ruling Class realize this, and if they do, do they even care?

I would like to see a constitutional amendment allowing for punishment including arrest and imprisonment of our elected officials (including the president). Impeachment just doesn't have enough teeth to dissuade our elected officials from happily breaking our laws.

My question is whether having a constitutional convention would be a dangerous thing; i.e. would that open the constitution up for all kinds of alterations that we don't want?
