Raimondo’s pension solution ranks as the most radical in recent North American history. “Sugar coating only hurts people,” Raimondo said. “This problem won’t go away until you fix it. The longer you wait, the harder it will be to fix.”

Those who are not corrupted by the political machine eventually tire and retire... In the mean, occasionally they accomplish something meaningful...

I kinda worry that it is a puff piece and parts are excerpts from a book-is it a set-up for her to run for higher office? Because when Christie came on the stage, I remember rooting for him big time too over taking on the teachers union

Embarrassing also comes to mind. The pension issue is huge. I remember reading a while back that a good chunk of the stimulus went to shoring up these state pensions. It grinds me to hear the government workers say they earned those pensions. They were sweetheart deals that are no longer affordable.

it was quite compelling and she's a heroine. where I live, alot of Canadians winter (note the article is a canadian one). they are watching the Obamacare debacle with great interest. The word I hear most is "reckless."

This is amazing. I was shocked she got her plan thru in one piece. I hope other states take notice.
