A sneak preview of what's new at the Papa Possum blog.

That's right, audio.

I am currently recording all of my satires, posting them to soundcloud, and embedding an audio link in each Papa Possum page.

I have nine pieces remaining, so I will be finished soon.

I intended to enable all of the audio at once.
However, since Thanksgiving is right around the corner, I have enabled the audio on my Thanksgiving piece "Breaking Bread" as a sneak preview.

Enjoy, or not.

Share at will.
And Happy Thanksgiving.

and its not the first time things like that have happened to me and my computer system. I just can't figure out why MS keeps trying to piss me off... if this is their strategy for upgrading to new software, the new software may come from Apple in Cupertino...

    Thanks!

    Thanks, plusaf.

Auto repeat was not my intention.
It does not happen with my system.
And I doubt it's anything that I can control.

The recordings are hosted on Soundcloud.
Once a piece is uploaded, I embed a player for that piece in the respective Papa Possum page.

So, your software is reacting funky to the Soundcloud embedded player.
That's not something I'm going to be able to fix.

    Great writing, great reading...

On my IE11/Win7 system, the audio keeps repeating. Was that your intention or is it a unique interaction with this combination of s/w?

    Thank you, JC.

Yeah, I'm sure it's tough when you're not hosting.
Now at least you'll have something to run through your mind when the dinner conversation reaches some low points.

    Euda: Excellent piece. Nice voice.
    Some talent you have there.
If I played it at the table I have to set at... well, several dinner guests would leave! Too bad it's not my house!
    Thank you for the joy.

    Breaking bread with Papa Possum
Is on the mark, and then some.
It's done with such a style and panache,
    Tastier than wifie's goulash.
So, gather 'round all you truth seekers,
Raise your glasses or perhaps your beakers,
To papa P. advocate of freedom,
I may have to pay, but I ain't gonna feed-um.

    Thank's Eudaimonia,
It looks like this year I should have a full house too.
My wife says, about 16-18 people... some friends, but mostly in-laws, or as I like to cal them "outlaws." :)
    Regards,
    O.A.

I reread Breaking Bread. Thank you for the timely posting. (I try to avoid audio at work.)

Do you link to other people's sites? I do not do social media, but I have heard other folks say that that is the key to site visits.

    Thanks, Rich.
Hopefully it will create some buzz that drives traffic to the site.

Whenever I put a new piece up, I promote it on social media.
Afterward, I see traffic only for that new piece.
People are not navigating to the other piece on the site.

I'm hoping that the audio will persuade people to read a few of the other pieces.
