"A great industrial nation is controlled by it's system of credit. Our system of credit is concentrated in the hands of a few men. We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated governments in the world--no longer a government of free opinion, no longer a government by conviction and vote of the majority, but a government by the opinion and duress of small groups of dominant men."
~ President Woodrow Wilson

Did Ayn Rand ever say anything about the Federal Reserve? There was no mention of it in Atlas Shrugged, and I haven't seen any mention of it her non-fiction work, but then again I haven't read everything she ever wrote. It would be interesting to know what her stance on it was.

CUI = Capitalism: The Unknown Ideal by Ayn Rand, Nathaniel Branden, Alan Greenspan, and Robert Hessen (New American Library, 1966).

Greenspan had three essays in that anthology:
    "Antitrust"
    "Gold and Economic Freedom"
    "The Assault on Integrity"

    Ayn Rand died in 1982.

Shrugger: In Atlas, Danneskjold explains to Rearden pg 541 ppb "2:VIII: The Moratorium on Brains" that he sells the CARGOES that he seizes for gold.

Maphesdus: Ayn Rand never directly addressed the FRB. Someone else might dig up a tidbit, but I know the canonical works fairly well. Alan Greenspan outlines a history of the FRB in "Gold and Economic Freedom" in CUI and that would count as being sanctioned by AR.
