This may seem cold but I can't believe this many people don't know who Martin Luther King was.

But that does not mean I have given up yet. The state is coming back to "check" on their compliance with their agreement, which is 0. If they do not do anything, I intend to go to Change.org and start a petition. You can wordsmith something that will appeal to those who really have environmental interests, as well as those that feel government should actually have to do it's job. And there is still a bankruptcy hearing next week, I have been feeding the trustee lots of data (she is paid on a percentage of what she finds, so her self interest should hopefully play into this). Barring all of that, we may just have to walk away from the mess.

Oh this story is so convoluted but is a perfect example of the whole collapsing system. It seems that a 14 day limit on a response is REALLY 17 days as there is an undocumented 3 day "grace". And you may or may not be able to get a court to pursue a liar hiding his assets, you actually have to get them interested. And the state of oregon IS the EPA in Oregon, if you call the EPA they tell you to call the state. In other words, the system claims to have rules, but when you say use them, they suddenly say "well... really..." If it was a dairy with money, or a cow rancher with money, they would fine them into the ground. All you have to do is say "I don't have any money" and they suddenly go away. The system is totally, irretrievably broke.

Watch closely: several of the people interviewed have at least some idea who MLK was (the interviewer does not mention he was black, but at least two interviewees mention it). They are simply responding, for the most part, to false and very leading questions.

I believe this same guy has done the same stunt with other historical personalities, including John F. Kennedy. And yes, he found people who had never heard of him. One can only wonder how many people he asked in total to get the sample shown in the video.

A friend was fond of dismissing MLK entirely because he was a womanizer, etc. Wasn't his private life his own business? This man was a leader who fought and won a very large-scale battle, without any of his followers ever raising a fist.

Given the climate of the time during which MLK did most of his best-known work, imagine what might have happened if he had gone up to the podium regularly and said "KILL WHITEY!" He did not.

Ayn Rand in her personal life was a despot. As you say, that doesn't alter what she wrote, but it does bring into question what she wrote.

One must take into account in her fiction, for example, the attempts to justify her despotism through her female protagonists.

You do have a point, in that someone who claims to be a pillar of "morality" ought to practice what s/he preaches. However, I think it important to separate "the art from the artist" so to speak. Abraham Lincoln was allegedly contacted by someone who told him he should fire General Grant as he was a drunk. He is said to have replied, variously, that he would send him a case of whiskey if it would help him win the war or that he wanted to know which brand he drank so he could send a case to all of his generals.

We see a fine example of the fallacy of ad hominem attacks in the form of those who deride Ayn Rand because she had an affair, took Dexamyl, and collected Social Security. Does that alter one word of her writings or their value? Or course not.

"Wasn't his private life his own business?"
    Wasn't he a "reverend"?
Wasn't he trying to convince people on a large scale to accept his ideas and to think like him?

He was, in essence, selling himself. I don't know about you, but his personal life reflects his character, and I'm very interested in the character of anyone who's trying to sell me on an ideology.

I am currently in a battle with my next door neighbor who has 250 alpacas on 2.5 acres, have never pickup up any manure in 5 years, smell like a sewer plant, killed every bit of life, there is just dirt, manure, mud and a sea of starving animals. He spews ecoli off the property into the stream that runs through the town, and joins a river. The state has sent him letters telling him he is in violation of federal and state law for 3 years now. He flips them off. They sent a pretty, formal citation and fined him 900.00. He flipped them off and said he has no money. When I pointed out to them they could fine him 5000/day/offense, the state quit talking to me and got mad. They have ceased all actions.I have sued him for a million dollars for driving my property value down (no one will even come up to look at our property for sale, because the road runs right through his 3rd world nation) so he went BK right before the trial. he claims he gets 850.00 month, yet has a 2250 house payment and 1500.00 in animal feed.
The idiots aren't born every minute, they are born in herds by the second. They gravitate to government and management because neither profession takes any common sense, and wields power. And because of this, I am forced to override the idiots and pay lawyers to chase this baboon around the legal universe, to make him responsible for his lunacy. If I don't, I will have to walk away and have my credit ruined for the next 10 years. Thus, the idiots have beaten us into the ground by crawling to positions of power, and inflicting on others the results of their total lack of common sense. This video cannot possibly be real, I am sure he staged them all. If they are real, then this is a Democratic voter registration flick. Arghh...

Yes. They are that uninformed. Mark Dice is doing us a great service. We need to be reminded just how tuned out people are.

lol ... some of these made me laugh.. "I can't.".. "I made out with a black chick once." but...what's up with the "obey" tank top that last dude was wearing?
Overall... pretty pathetic that these people don't know MLK died.... before they were born!
Sometimes I wonder if these people are actors... can they be that uninformed?... scary.
