guh.. I pay out the equivalent of an Audi A3 in taxes every year. So that we can bomb places I don't give a crap about, build bridges to nowhere, and put tattoos on on a looser.. When I quit providing the feds with the equivalent of an Audi A3 every year, they will need to ask themselves why.. Granted, they will never do that, they will just assume that another sucker will come along and allow themselves to be drained of productivity to make up for the fools who don't feel the need to take part.

What a nice (and unpleasant) summation. I am not sure whether to say "Blechch." in empathy or "Yay" to congratulate you on your concision.

My only goal these days is to get setup with enough set aside to actually just quit and still maintain a standard of living. Back in high-school I washed dishes at a Ponderosa at night. I look forward to taking all the time I have spent learning algorithms, data modeling and system automation and using it to earn minimum wage washing dishes really well.. Ill stop paying taxes, and mostly actually live off my investments.

"The man in Seat 5, Car No. 7, was a worker who believe he had 'a right' to a job, whether his employer wanted him or not..."

This is worse. This person believes she has "a right" to sustenance, whether the taxpayers wish to provide it or not.

Very simple solution. The mother must provide the name of the father before being able to receive benefits. If the named man disagrees, then a DNA test can be used. Only after the man who caused this impregnation is identified will benefits be provided. And the man will be docked for the support. If they cannot/will not pay, then there should be debtors prisons where they can work off their debt.

Those rules are already in place, and they're unfair -- because the man has not agreed to have kids (and don't try to tell me that sex is an agreement to have kids -- marriage exists in order to be an agreement to have kids). The rule should be what it was in 1900: you get the ring on your finger before popping out any kids, or do without any child support. And if you want help from charity, you get sterilized first.

It takes 2 parties to create a child. Both are responsible. There's nothing unfair about that.

Sure there is. A pregnancy doesn't have to become a child, and a child can be given up for adoption rather than kept. The mother alone gets both of these choices. Therefore, she needs to pay their incremental cost by herself. It's a basic moral principle that authority and responsibility go together.

Besides, the kind of woman who's willing to be a welfare mother is certainly willing to defraud a man to do it (by saying she's on the pill or whatever).

Years ago I saw an interview with a woman much like this one. When she was asked why she didn't try and lift herself out of poverty by getting an education or learning a trade, her answer was a question: "Since I can get something for doing nothing, why should I do anything?"

Until that mentality changes, nothing else will change. And I see nothing that will force that mentality to change.

The Government's impending bankruptcy will do it, and in a most jarring way. But it will take everything down with it when it happens.

I'd prefer a more proactive approach, but my fear is that the welfare state's proponents have reached a critical mass.

I think you are right. I even think that if we managed to elect a huge majority of responsible legislators and they put in place the elimination of deficit spending and a "cross the board" reduction of government spend of 1 percent per year they would all immediately be voted out of office because of the "pain" that would cause.

Unless one were to combine this with tax reductions that eliminate the well-known phenomenon known as the "welfare trap". Give people a reason to want to work and allow them to enjoy the fruits of their labors!

The way to eliminate the "welfare trap" is to taper off each benefit at its income ceiling, rather than have it abruptly cut off, so you don't put any recipient in the position of thinking, "I'd better not earn more than X amount, or I'll lose more in benefits than I gain in wages." The Tax Foundation did a neat chart showing all these different cutoff points; it's amazing how many different ones there are.

The "impending bankruptcy" statement is a myth. Yes, in a very real sense, DC is bankrupt, but it will not suffer the consequences a private company would -- unless some greater power sails a Navy fleet in and seizes control. Even the banana republics, where nearly all government funds come from the printing press because taxes are so hard to collect, don't dare stop paying welfare benefits -- people would riot!

It seems there is only one way that we're going to get our legislators to change the law and put a stop to all the abuses. The solution would be for all of us to go on welfare and totally break the system, which would amount to breaking the government. We've got to start hiring representatives that initiate and vote as we would. It isn't going to happen, at least not in my lifetime.. Do they still make license plates in prisons? Prisons too have become a welfare system, free room and board, food, clothing, etc. I wonder if they get cell phones!!!

Breaking the system is the Obamination strategy (read Cloward and Piven). Only the leftist masses think if they break the system, it will be the rich that are destroyed. They should know better because it's happened before.

Every country in Latin America has gone through the results of destroying-the-system-by-too-much-welfare-spending. What you get is a country with rampant corruption (you have to bribe bureaucrats and cops on a daily basis); where no one except the president and his friends can make a profit and keep it; where nearly all jobs are off-the-books; where no one has formal title to property; where inflation is in the hundreds of percent a year, because taxes are so difficult to collect, the only way government can be funded is to print more and more money; where the cops are nothing but gangsters, and would just as soon shoot you as look at you; and where every year or two, the country is convulsed by riots and general strikes, followed by prolonged lockdowns (curfews) as the police take back control.

Most of the Demonrat rank-and-file simply fail to understand that that's exactly where they're leading our country. But the top leadership knows, and don't give a hoot because they're Communists and *want* our rich, open society destroyed.

And if they succeed, the outcome will be a lot less rosy, and more permanent, than it has been for countries in Latin America. Because there is no World Bank or IMF large enough to be capable of bailing out the United States.

Can I withdraw my comment? It was not what I really believe should happen, just an imaginary idea. But I do think we need someone that will go to Washington DC and go over the books “line by line” and take out a whole bunch of the stuff that just doesn’t belong there. Every temporary program we’ve ever had is still there and growing. I wish there was a way to show the different results between a government that follows the constitution and the current one we have today. And I think those on welfare need to reapply with stricter rules each year, or perhaps even each month. Those that have done nothing to get out on their own should be rejected and have to go to family or friends for help, charity. If family, friends, or charity is unwilling to help them there must be a reason. The government needs to get out of this business. Give us your poor, your humbled masses, some people take this too literally.

Agreed. I believe that the best hope for reforming the country peacefully is to elect a president like Rand Paul and having him put several people on the Supreme Court. My #1 pick is Judge Andrew Napolitano, whose book "The Constitution In Exile" is right on the money. There are others like him.

That indolent attitude, plus four kids! Grrrr. I had a psychologist friend who recommended beating up a pillow when I got this angry and frustrated. There may not be enough pillows for me and the rest of you. !@#$#@!!!!

She is one of many prime examples of why the American segment of Western Civilization will collapse. She is a totally selfish individual seeking her personal pleasures at the expense of anyone else that she can loot. She is a parasitic virus slowly killing its host and is spinning off progeny that statistically will do the same. Multiply her case by millions and it isn't hard to see a collapse coming. Here's her story after the collapse: She will whore herself out to any gang that will toss her a bite to eat because that is all she knows how to do. The gang only survives through looting and murder because that's all they know how to do. They feel justified in their actions because they have been brought up from birth in the entitlement mentality with no sense of personal responsibility or remorse. They are clueless of their contribution to their own misery and that of everyone else. They truly believe their plight is always the fault of someone else, never their own. Eventually, they will kill her and her children for a can of beans or an afternoons entertainment. Her gang will eventually succumb to violence, disease, exposure, or starvation.

The only modifier here is what will the host do as it realizes it's actually about to die?

I've worked with sheep and cattle ranchers quite a bit. When I once commented about how stupid sheep are, one rancher responded that "they are smart as they need to be." So goes it with welfare recipients. We think the education system has failed these people and then we find out they can add and subtract just fine to support the decisions that they make. This woman was raised and trained to do what she is doing. That's what legislating morality is all about. Disgusting but true.

And in a few years she can start another McDonald's riot because someone didn't give her exactly what the thinks she wants.

    Freeloading, mooching loser.

You have more of this than say someone like Star Parker. She was on "benefits" but got off them and got a job and is famous in some circles. Star is more the exception to the rule. It is a sad state of our welfare system when this is what we get for all the taxes that we pay. Like some one else stated about paying the equivalent of an Audi A3, I am in the same boat and am fed up with all that theft being wasted on good for nothings. There are some who are not, but the system is broken and needs to be reformed or better yet, done away with. New Mexico is trying to institute a work requirement for benefits. They gave up the government waiver and are being sued by some liberal groups and benefit absconders to fight it.

It is all part of the plan. Cloward and Piven. Too many do not understand, or if they do, do not care that their existence is provided by virtue of the servitude of others.
