As a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), I am aware that there are 3 sets of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). There is one set of GAAP for Corporations and Businesses that seek to make a Profit, another set of GAAP for State and Local Governments, and still another set of GAAP for the Federal Government. My Proposal would be to eliminate the two sets of GAAP used for Federal Government and State and Local Government and make all Governments use the same GAAP that For-Profit Businesses use. That would make it much harder for Government to Bullshit the American People over how much things will cost, and about whether or not something is a tax or not or how much so-called revenue new taxes will bring. The Federal Government has been fooling people for years with all these crazy Accounting tricks that only they can use with their set of GAAP. Make them use the same GAAP that for-profit businesses use and this will severely impact their ability to Bullshit the American People. A good book to read that talks about some of these crazy accounting tricks and gimmicks that the Federal Government uses to Bullshit the American People is Glenn Beck's Broke. It is written well so that even a layman or non-accounting professional can read it. Check it out.

Thank you, Geckowolf, for adding to my meager font of knowledge. I knew the gubmint used shady math for the unemployment figures, now I know how they come up with the other BS.
Galt's Gulch, always learning something from the participants. Luv it.

And while they are at it eliminate the "non-profit", and/or "not for profit" as a type of business they are both an oxymoron and a license to steal.

I would not recommend getting rid of "not-for-profit" status because many TEA PARTY groups are "not-for-profit." Remember, the TEA in Tea Party stands for "Taxed Enough Already." I sit on the board of a Tea Party Patriot group as volunteer Treasurer/Bookkeeper called Founders Values and I personally assisted with completing the IRS Form 1023 to obtain our Tax-Exempt Status. It took nearly 3 years for the IRS to grant our Tax-Exempt Status what, with the targeting of Tea Party Patriot groups and all. Now that that we have it, we do not want to lose it. It is a very valuable thing.

I have a theory that all laws are experiments, and have intended outcomes. The law should be passed with a measurable outcome with a schedule for the outcome. If the outcome isn't achieved by the date, the law expires.

I agree. All laws and regulations that are passed from this moment onward should have expiration dates. They need to be formally proposed and re-voted in order to re-initiate them.

      Jan
(and all existing laws below US Constitution level should also receive expiration dates)

Agreed. I would like a Constitutional provision that automatically twilights all continuous spending programs unless SPECIFICALLY re-authorized by Congress every year. That would force them to spend time defending the ongoing spending of taxpayer dollars and give irrelevant laws an easy path to death.

Obamacare is outright fraud. In a rational world, the President would be impeached and convicted and people would go to jail. Too bad we don't live in one.

The truth is that which corresponds to reality. The problem with those people is that they try to twist and remold reality in order to make it fit their agenda. It doesn't work, it can't work. That's why it will always fail.

Dino imagined a dunce cap on the head of that blathering idiot. Now as I write, I'm thinking a red clown nose would look good with the cap.
I've always admired Megan Kelly. Glad she appears done with experiments that looked like bad hair nights.
What would we do without Fox News?

Whitman is one of the most disgusting of the "fair
and balanced" contributors on Fox, imho.

we need to charge some people with political fraud
and make it stick, as a felony punishable by exportation
of your ass to some place where mail-in ballots
do not arrive in time. -- j

Luv it how she tears into this liberal liar. Wait, that's redundant, isn't it? Liberal equals liar. Oh well. I actually don't think Megyn was firm enough with this clown.
