    This will be interesting to watch. I have never been bothered by nuclear power but to see this happen in Japan is frightening. I always thought they were ahead of us in this field. I truly hope this goes well.

      I agree. I always thought people's ignorance made them fear nuclear technology, but we've seen what happens when multiple bits of bad luck line up against us. I hope nothing like that happens during this operation.

    The power guru of Japan-Tepco-does not have the best track record of safety with their nuclear plants, not only that, they weren't very forthcoming with the initial Fukushima problems after the earthquake of 2011. The prevailing winds are one of the concerns as to where the radioactive fall out would/will be taken. If you check the actual particulate readings after the initial problems with Fukushima and for a few months after, you will note that the western seaboard of Canada and United States took the brunt of the fall out! It's winter now, so I'm thinking the prevailing winds will carry a lot of the fall out up the Eastern side of China and points north and south of China. This major issue is far from being fixed correctly.
