I really hope this kind of thing happens in other towns. I went to a meeting once and the board refused to hear complaints from anyone who was not a resident of the township. A lot of pissed off people. I wish I had studied the laws better and was prepared to confront them. As a little side note, I saw one of the reps laughing as the meeting adjourned and he gave the council President 5 bucks. It seemed obvious he had a bet with him that he couldn't stop people from commenting.

Actually, she read from a handbook. It cited as similar sounding (but different) law about the public not being able to participate in the Board's deliberations. Apparently, the handbook made no mention of the law that said that the Board was Required To let the public speak. Ahem. An oversight, I am sure.

I am so glad these guys are willing to watchdog. I am looking for a site that lets me throw a few bucks in their direction to support them.

Yeah, I found it after this one. But notice, there's been no big news stories. This sounds like something worthy of national news coverage.

Scott just posted a great story about the guys that did the citizen arrest. In addition to this they have forced 102 corrupt officials to resign.

That's it. She knew the law but felt if they ignored it that nothing would happen. Kudos to the Sheriff for doing his job.
