Illinois residents John Kraft and Kirk Allen, who run an anti-corruption non-profit called the Edgar County Watchdogs, have waged a campaign against crooked public officials over the past two years, forcing resignations from 102 bureaucrats and politicians and at one point placing an entire park district board under citizen's arrest.

Those 102 got off easy and just resigned. They should have been prosecuted and put in jail, where they belong.

Ya know. I have been thinking about this for an hour or so now, and I would like to share my musings. I would like to suggest that the WORST aspects of this confrontation are spectacularly good. How is that?

Take a step back and look again. There is a board meeting where members of both genders are present. A member of the public asks to address the board and a vote is taken: No. The citizen, a mature male, then arrests the entire board. An adult male objects and tries to leave; the citizen responds by reading him the law. A young woman lawyer disputes and tells the Board they can leave; the citizen responds by reading her the law; the young woman then gadflies the adult male unceasingly. The sheriff comes and says the citizen is correct. The whole thing is recorded and put on the internet where people watch it.

Do you see what I mean? This is not going to happen in the Ukraine or in Gaza or in China. Even when people are doing things that are Wrong, there is still a basis of behavior that is remarkably good. If this were the worse behavior the world had to deal with, we would be in good shape.

This is an awesome, inspiring story. I was starting to lose hope that something like that could be done.

Bravo for them! I wish that I had the fortitude to engage in local political action as they have done. This was cheery and heartening. "Take back the Law."

An illustration that people still have some power left. I wish there were two guys like this in all 50 states.

Comrade citizens, it would behoove you to realize that our more than equal elite betters of the all powerful federal executive branch has no use for uppity upstarts like John Kraft and Kirk Allen.
And who do they think they are rocking the boat in Illinois? That's a favorite progressive training ground. Gee whiz, y'know comrades, it's this kinda goody two-shoes apocalyptic harassment that just makes me want to move to Colorado where I can smoke a joint in peace.

I wish we had more people like these two. We need them to shake up the crooked political world.

The only surprise for me in this is that they actually succeeded in removing people from office. Good for them!
