State of Fear is a good read, and Crichton was an excellent writer.
Another part sci-fi writer, part engineer James Hogan also wrote non-fiction book, Kicking the Sacred Cow. In it he debunks about 10 'scientific' issues including GW, the Big Bang, and DDT.
Too bad both writers died relatively young.

This is why they've had to rebrand it "climate change". If an intelligent person looks at the science behind "global warming" they quickly realize the theory is flimsy at best and completely wrong at worst.

Michael Crichton has a great book that analyzes peoples apparent need to generate crisis from nothing in "State of Fear".

The book was used by a Senator to bring up the issue, to which Al Gore's response was to use a straw man argument, "Well, I read a science fiction novel that tells me it's not a problem".
