    Yes.Testing wasn't that big when I was in school. What bothers me most about it is it seems to be focused on minimum standards and not on outstanding performance. This is bad a) for people who don't have special needs and have educated parents who teach them the basics and b) people who are outstanding in one area and will create enough value in that one area to hire experts in other areas.

    My kids were products of no child left behind. They spent probably 40% of class time preparing for or taking standardized tests. Under CC, it 's worse. Back when I was a kid, we took one test a year that was standardized. One. The teacher probably spent a week getting us ready for it. This involves children. Their frustration is important to the issue, which should not be a political one since CC is supported by dems and repubs alike. This is the craziness of what only centralized govt and Big Corp can dream up. Buyer beware

    It's amazing the stretches people make in politicizing children. It would be shameless if it were so obviously transparent.
