    Since its solar an additional energy storage system is a given requirement, but not part of the system in the article. Said storage systems are already available in many forms.

    The waste heat could be used for anything you can use heat to drive....
    Heating water
    making steam > steam can be used as power for other machines or drive a generator for more electricity.
    Heating a large thermal mass for later use.

    All sorts of options

    Agreed, the storage issue is not solved with this product. It would have to be part of a more comprehensive system.

    I like the idea of cooling and using the heat for another purpose, I suppose the other purpose does not have to be desalination.
    Note- no storage of electricity or energy in any form is mentioned. Without a store of energy it is of little use for an isolated generator.

    Now that is a nice piece of engineering. I really hope they beat the market date in the article. Definitely would like to have one or two of those.
