Republicans [might] win this go-around but Constitutional Conservatives will prevail in the long-run. I am counting on it!

Prognosticating on elections is like standing on a golf course and holding a steel putter over your head in a lightning storm. You may or may not get struck by lightning, but your chances of becoming the Human Flash are absolutely nil!
I vote faithfully, but I am depressed. The party Machines in my Congressional District didn't select anyone from our CD, their both wealthy 'Summer Soldiers' from several counties away, both having summer homes in the district.
The election process has become so completely perverted that the chance of either party nominating someone good is like pissing on a firestorm and expecting it to go out!
And still they wonder why we don't trust them.

    "Neither represent the American people."

Please tell me which American people do you mean?

Can anyone define what an "American" is?

oh he is not lame. You forget all those agencies which are in bed with him, and short of teh House stopping their funding (which they have not proven they have the balls to do) he still has a pen and a phone

That would make the lame duck PTOUS even more lame and might even discourage grandma Hillary from throwing her hat in the ring.

If the Republicans win the Senate and retain the House they had better act like Republicans and respect the Constitution or they will prove once again they are just statists by another name. Here are their "unifying principles"/ platform. First on the list is, "Our Constitution should be preserved, valued and honored." We shall see. I will not hold my breath.

Assuming the Republicans win the Senate back and keep the House this Fall, Constitutional Conservatives might well be able to force the Republican party into some big changes as our ranks swell. "Winning" is not so much the goal because, if all we do is win broadly in these next two elections, then we will forget about the hard work that needs to be done to regain our freedoms and public understanding of and support for our Constitution. Without these in place, any election gains will be lost in short order (which is what always happens).

We have the numbers to demand party changes if we can just get out the vote in this hugely critical mid-term election.

I live in Deepest Darkest Appalachia, and there are a LOT of white conservatives around here who would happily vote for Herman. However, with his Chicago-techniques experience during the last campaign, I don't expect him to ever run again.

Cain would stand no chance at all AJ

He would be tarred with Obama's brush because of his race, no matter what his accomplishments are. It sucks, but thats the reality of humanity. Obama has poisoned that well for a long long time.

Not that the American voters look at qualifications any more, else we would not have had the last 6 years of bloviating bullshit.

The Republicans will win and they know it. This is why we will get the sh*t from the bottom of their barrel. Whenever they feel they can't lose the resurrect some good-ol-boy party faithful that has patiently waited his turn for payback and we, with no real choice, have to vote for him or suffer the consequence (O). There are CLEAR choices for POTUS among the non-left camp and none of them will make it out of the RNC primary (Cain).

Sadly, the only real differences between the RNC and DNC is the first letter and how they choose to seek THEIR power grab. Neither represent the American people.

The political system in this country needs an enema.

    Same as it ever was.
