Sadly, the only real differences between the RNC and DNC is the first letter and how they choose to seek THEIR power grab. Neither represent the American people.
The political system in this country needs an enema.

He would be tarred with Obama's brush because of his race, no matter what his accomplishments are. It sucks, but thats the reality of humanity. Obama has poisoned that well for a long long time.
Not that the American voters look at qualifications any more, else we would not have had the last 6 years of bloviating bullshit.
I wonder if what you state regarding Herman Cain being tarred by race due to Obama's time as president. I truly believe that race alone would not be a factor. The problem with Obama is that he's a socialist at best and an outright believer that the U/S. is the major problem in the world.
Immigration proves that people in the rest of the world still recognize that the U.S. is the solution to the problem not the cause. This is despite the many mistakes that especially this administration has made. Other administrations since the Reagan years have also contributed to the desintegration of free enterprise in our country, but we are resourceful and do eventually learn our lessons. be positive, we can and will survive these last 25 years of mistakes.

While I tend to agree with re: the enema, I must point out that we do have the ability to make choices during the primary elections.
Sadly, the RNC as you state tend to give us the same "good- ol-boy party faithful." Ssome of this can be hel;ped along by every one of us "little guys" to write and make the best effort we can to get good honest men and women to run for office. Be supportive of those potential candidates who will answer directly when asked a direct question. if such answers are not forthcoming let everyone you know what these types of candidates will probably become if elected to office. Any candidate that doesn't respond clearly and immediately to questions are not to be trusted.

You certainly are on the right path in your thinking, but we do have a few candidates that say what they truly think. Ted cruz is certainly on the forefront of a politician that i believe can be trusted to stick to his guns. Of course the old boy Republican party will block his path any way they can. let's show them that the "common"people can force some changes. Speak up whenever you can, take the time to write letters to the editors of your local newspaper and other media. Take time to support any good and honest politicians you can find. And by honest, I mean politicians that will answer your questions directly. if they try to change the subject, they can;t be trusted. support your local Tea Party with your presence and make sure that you are heard and be supportive of likeminded people.
We must and can take back the control of our legislatures and hold everyones feet to the fire.

I'm not a Romney fan, and would never vote for him, but he was not and is not unelectable.
I would also take a look at all the voter fraud that took place in key battleground states. The election was actually MUCH closer than the electoral college vote.
Was Mitt the ideal candidate? Name another and we can compare them.
Herman Cain - I loved his 9-9-9 plan, but the scandal deep-sixed him. Stick a fork in him.
John McCain - a liberal. He'll never get the nod in the primaries because of his voting record. Or at least one can hope.
Rand Paul - unlike his father who was an idiot on foreign policy, Rand actually seems to take a pretty good line politically in almost all critical issues. I'd sure vote for him.
Marco Rubio - he really torpedoed himself by siding with the Dems on immigration. He could still make a push demographically, but I don't see him running for President.
Ted Cruz - the real deal. I'd vote for him any day, and coming from Texas gives him a lot of Southern support.
Ben Carson - I like him. He's very well spoken and one the Dems can't play the race card on except to call him an "Uncle Tom". He has the kind of background that really appeals to voters. Definitely a possibility.
Allen West - I don't really see him as a Presidential candidate - he lost his race in Florida too easily. But he'd make a great VP or Sec State.
The other thing to consider is name recognition. Dr. Carson has the credentials and background to be a great candidate, but his name recognition falls way behind Ted Cruz or Rand Paul. He's going to have to spend a lot of money to get his name out there before it will appear on the ballot.
Here's my ideal anti-Hillary montage:
Show a report of ISIS's tyranny, then come back with Hillary Clinton stating "At this point, what difference does it make?"
Show a report of the stock market tumbling and then show Clinton's statement again.
Show a report of the IRS targeting, then run Clinton's statement again.
Show the new information about the Whitewater investigation, then show Clinton again.
Last, show the pictures of the Benghazi four, then show Clinton's statement one last time.
Finish up with one last line: "You SHOULD care - because she DOESN'T."
The other thing to consider is the general world economy - which because of high taxation and welfare spending is dragging down the EU. The Russians' actions in the Ukraine aren't helping either in terms of global stability or economy - further creating problems. And China's economy is overheated with false production. Top that off with the Fed-induced dollar inflation and you've got a real mess that even stable oil prices isn't going to cure.

I vote faithfully, but I am depressed. The party Machines in my Congressional District didn't select anyone from our CD, their both wealthy 'Summer Soldiers' from several counties away, both having summer homes in the district.
The election process has become so completely perverted that the chance of either party nominating someone good is like pissing on a firestorm and expecting it to go out!
And still they wonder why we don't trust them.

It is naive to think otherwise, and immoral to give consent by participating in the fraudulent scam.
I felt a great amount of relief when I first heard the term "Looters." This narrows down the problem from one in which we can do nothing about to one that puts their whole nonsense into a workable perspective.. These Looters, who would otherwise be serving time in prison, are using a perverted form of "government" to legitimize their illegalities.
As much as the Looters try, they cannot obfuscate what they are doing to us. There can be no war between the "classes" (their term not ours) when there are no classes of citizens except between the Looters and the American Citizens.
So what do we usually do with Common Looters?
Think positive, just don't waste your efforts.
We have the numbers to demand party changes if we can just get out the vote in this hugely critical mid-term election.

With rep. majority, we have a better chance of turning back to the rule of law instead of the application of communist ideology - but ONLY if we demand and require the reps. to do it, they will happily go about the business of screwing us if we continue to lay down. I agree that formal, timely investigations, charging and trials for a multitude of felonies begin the day after the new congress is sworn - but, it WILL NOT happen unless we show up at their offices, fundraisers, etc. and demand it.
They only listen to money and power regardless of our peaceful actions.
A congress run by the existing one party will never do what you describe unless faced with an overwhelming force exceeding that of the banking cartel and corpora-clep-tocracy.
Working within the system is not a rational productive option any more.
Forecasting is a purely political game. It is our tax dollars they are spending. We can possibly choose not to give them our tax dollars, eh?...there is power in numbers, folks...
