$15 a head? No problem. Solo driver, plus as many guys as you can fit into the trunk. so maybe 3 or 5 bucks apiece.

    Those were the days...

I just checked and there's still one operating drive-in theater in the Kansas City area. Having lived here for over 50 years, I haven't been to a movie there yet. At only 83, there's plenty more opportunities to take advantage of it. It's $15 a head and while they do have some concessions, you are allowed to bring your own. They're using a 4K projection system.

Ahh... I remember when a college buddy pulled me into his dorm room, well known for his ridiculously-huge speakers, during my freshman year in college, telling me, "You gotta listen to this," and proceeded to play Sultans of Swing. I will never forget hearing that masterpiece for the first time, and it never gets old...

My pleasure. But I can't really take any credit for it.

Once you listen to any of these, YouTube's good ol' AI algorithm will take over and start "suggesting" all kinds of similar videos...

Sweet, checked out the first one and it started off with Dire Straits, definitely one of my fav's, didn't sound too bad either.
I promised myself that if time and money exist, I'll get back into re-mastering, I can make a lot of recorded music sound like Steely Dan or better.
I listen to great music while I assemble the memes . . . psst: (Thats my secret recipe. shhhhh . . . .)

Thank you for expanding my music range!!!!
So far for a long time I just type and click onto "YouTube Music" when I get dressed every morning or else use that as a starting point for searches for listening to something some times long gone that I like.

The town of Southington Connecticut still has an Operating Drive in Theater, It's a big thing! If my wife ever gets better, I'd like to go one evening, It's around where I used to live but its an hour or so from the shoreline where I live now.

I started listening to 60,70,80,music on youtube, lots of audiophile stuff too, (caution, AI is all over the place, it wasn't too bad, kind of catchy but gets old real quick).
The live band stuff and as recorded in the olden days SUCKS. I tend to stick to Steely Day, Pink Floyd, Alman Brothers etc . . . .

The new Mini Cooper is a great place to listen and drive. She has a Harman Kardon system.

Drowsy is also what starts to happen to my memory now that my 80th birthday awaits within the midst of this coming month of March.
As for movies turning to crap, I've also noticed that crap also defines what passes for the current hit songs.
I've got a music channel on TV I used to enjoy. Bland! Bland! Bland! So bland I can't stick around for a full minute.

    A drowsy thought?

Sounds like what happens during the second movie at the drive-in.

And during about 95% of movies available for streaming these days, that are almost all crap.

Drive-ins. Whoa. What Memories. We snuck behind one to watch Porkies as we were not old enough. LOL.

I still remember those Metal Speakers you hung on the window/door. Later replaced with local radio signals. Much better in the winter. You did not have to open your window, got to keep the car "warm", nowadays more like running the A/C, which we never had until the came FREE with the cars, LOL.

I saw GREASE at the drive-in. The parents would take me for free. I would watch the first movie, and then fall asleep, and they would watch the second movie, and then drive home.

Thanks for bringing back the good memories.

Thanks. I coulda done this myself if asking that question wasn't a drowsy thought I when I just plain needed to be in bed.
Thanks anyhow! I see there's still one in Dothan where I grew up and took dates, double dates any number of four younger brothers and even three or four carloads of guys I vaguely recall. What's left is not the Skyview or the Goober (Houston County has rich red soil for peanuts and even a Peanut Festival with a fair and a Saturday parade) or located anywhere near it. There is also one in Leeds way on the other side of Birmingham where I now live thereabouts.
Haven't been in a drive-in since 1969 and perhaps since I first saw Once Upon A Time In The West there~~a hard to forget movie. Think the last time I was in a Birmingham area seated theater was during the late1980s and can't recall what I last saw.,

Same here. It took close investigation to discover that she was actually carrying two steins of beer. And so close to the local dairy plant. ;)
