Enjoy your hamburgers, which are some of my favorite foods.
Good set. Shows what will happen if the shepple elect these charlatans.
The only way to stop it is with education which is so sadly lacking at this point, and with turnout of voters that understand what is at stake.
Now if common sense does not prevail, what are our options? I am getting to where I will probably run out my string - but what about my son and grandchildren? He talks the same way I do, but he has more years to try to navigate.
Just curious as to thoughts....
Look for others like yourself and dig in.
AOC goes to figure on a basic level of stupidity.
Even now, my reflex is to say that Communism has never worked….
Seems like Atlas Shrugged come to life.
Most of the creatures involved are not truly introspective themselves, they need the pier pressure to act human.
("ACT" human, even though they are probably not in the full sense of it)
However, if the governing body (DC) goes south, it's all lost anyway.
I've never been a fan of the heavy hand of government.
Which is why I'm a fan of Ayn Rand and a member of Gult's Gulch.
We all know it, We all witnessed it, now they are bound by their own actions and the "LAW" to do no harm.
It's the only way I know to get non humans to act Human , even if their handicap is the temptation of the work itself.
Many scientist experience that temptation to do a thing even though, if they could thought of it, wouldn't do it in the first place . . .(like create a virus?)
But I'm not interested in playing semantic games.
I will never be a fan of any Agreement signed by the heads of individual corporations and the leader of the U.S. federal government.
Had the leaders of the individual corporations themselves made an Agreement that did not include the leader of the U.S. federal government, then I would have no problem with it.
(But we all know the chances of the current leader of our U.S. federal government passing up the opportunity to sign his own name, big and bold, to such an Agreement, not to mention taking full credit for making it happen.)
All of that being said, I'm actually okay with this Agreement because I believe the leaders of these individual corporations know that (a) it is completely voluntary and toothless, so they can continue to do whatever the heck they want anyway, and (b) perhaps this grand smoke-and-mirrors (in other words, very Trumpian) show will have some kind of calming effect on the popular "AI is going to kill us all, so the government had better do something about it" fearmongering that's been going around, thus allowing these individual corporations to continue developing their AI tools in a wild, unchecked race with each other, with very little regard to long-term safety, privacy, or other concerns.
Ah... The beauty of the Free Market...
p.s. I just noticed that I misspelled John Galt's last name in my last comment, so now I'm questioning just how big of an Ayn Rand fan I actually am...
The excuse I use is: Too many Tabs open.
All for the free market but only for Consciously introspective Human beings which I don't think these so called leaders of industry are in total.
Most, I suspect are Schizophrenic at best with or without a fully functioning conscience.
The temptation is way too great, even for the best of us.
. . . and I won't even get into the adverse affects of a weakening magnetic field upon the human brain never mind a computer brain.
However, I have a feeling that's exactly how "Mr. Thompson" and his ilk felt about Dagny Taggart, Hank Reardon, etc.
And it doesn't change my stance against Big Government attempting to exert control over corporations.
But I gave up long ago thinking Trump would ever stop acting Trumpian.
