This isn't about AI safety.

There's this globalist cult called "Effective Altruism" - and they want you to be scared, stupid and subservient.

Good read, thanks markjr. Here's a simplification from my thoughts: If comrade Bernie Sanders hates it and cloaks it in fear porn, then I'll embrace it and give it a go - nice try, comrade.

A quick 1 minute search using AI... Peter Singer, William MacAskill, Toby Ord, Dustin Moskovitz, Cari Tuna, Holden Karnofsky, and Nick Bostrom are the main people behind Effective Altruism. They are opposed to DDT and instead distribute Mosquito nets to prevent malaria and vitamin A for blindness through their charities like Against Malaria Foundation, Give Directly, Malaria Consortium, Helen Keller International, New Incentives, Evidence Action to the tune of 600 million. I can use AI to find there is a tremendous amount of overkill there so where is the money REALLY going? This is why they are afraid of AI. 95% of malaria is in Sub Saharan Africa and almost 50% of Vitamin A deficiencies in children. So the real question is why are these people so heavily invested in having a presence in Africa? It costs 2$ per net to make and 3$ to ship. It would be wiser to make them local and provide jobs to boot. then they could buy them for themselves. So what's really going on? Are these just really smart-stupid rich people? If we Limit AI in the US then only other countries can use it.

There are number of professionally made signs around my area proclaiming NO DATA CENTER. A lot of my neighbors, most of whom use Google and like how fast it is, are on board with stopping the proposed local data center. I have yet to get anywhere in suggesting they ask who is behind trying to prevent the data center.

Myself, I aware of the pre-indexing that goes into constructing a large dataset. Most others, including some techy guys, are not. Meanwhile, the PRC and others steam ahead.
