I can only extend that thought to: Students ought to be taught how to think for themselves. The primacy of the individual's mind over the group think propaganda shoveled at them in schools today.

Back in the 60's I had a Korean 10th grade geometry teacher that was was very heavy on the "how to think" as opposed to "what to think". His instruction has served me all my life and I will always remember him fondly for that.
Excellent article. That "what to think vs how to think" is a conflict that I've been aware of for a long time. I saw a swing away from "how" and towards "what" when I was in high school, well over 50 years ago.
