What Is It With The Fickle Europeans' [Leaders]? Do They Think They Can Do Foolish Things and Never Be Held Accountable By Reality?

Excerpt:
"President Donald Trump is now trying to say, you know, we’re using all of our assets to disarm this common threat to the West. Could you just send a few ships to help us, you know, patrol the Strait of Hormuz? And they’re reluctant.

This gets back to the United States, who pays an inordinate amount of the NATO budget. And it keeps having to, you know, to harangue and hammer. “Please, please defend yourself. We are here to help you, but we’re across the ocean, 3,000 miles away. And this is in your interest. You know, this is the third time Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine.”

So, don’t they have a fear of Iran? I mean, there was a joint missile defense project. Obama canceled it, in that infamous quid pro quo hot mic conversation where he made a deal with the Russians to give him space so he could get reelected. He would dismantle the Czech and Polish project to have missile defense. That was primarily for the protection of Europe. The United States was going to pay a great deal of it. Protection from Iran.

So, what’s going on? What explains this European schizophrenia? That they want to be an ally, but they don’t want to be an ally. They’re scared to death of a nuclear Iran, but they don’t want to do anything about it. They want the United States to handle it, but they want the United States to handle it and keep them out of it.

But most of their oil comes from the Middle East or North Africa. So, they are adamant that they want the supplies, reliable. They want the Strait of Hormuz open. They want the United States to ensure that. They want the United States to clear the Red Sea of Houthi attacks. We know all that, but they’re not there when we need them at all. And a very, you know, a very reasonable request.

And so why is this?"

    I'll vote for allosaur's explanation.

Seems to me that the leadership
(not a good term for those we refer to)
are dead scared to take a position on anything.

Exception, the urgent need for war on Russia - provided that
they do not pay, economies nosediving with climate crap and migrant welfare,
they provide no guns or materiel, what little they had squandered on Ukraine,
they send no men, their own disillusioned, -- migrants busy attacking women.

Will there be a change now that Iran has a 4,000km range missile?
Most euro capitals are now in range.

The "fickle Europeans?" My dino dictionary defines them as wimped out cowards who opened their gates to Muslim hordes who want them to convert or cut their own throats~~which they've already done to themselves anyway.
Yesterday I read that Muslims won't even allow Brits to have dogs anymore.
What won't be allowed next in the once Great Britain's own country? Keeping their heads? Invite in evil and it will take over every time.

Unfortunately, Europe’s continual demise is not new. This trend was recognized nearly fifty years ago by philosopher Leonard Peikoff in “The Ominous Parallels,” and how it will affect the United States, when he expressed:
“The American spirit has not yet been destroyed, but it cannot withstand this kind of undermining indefinitely. If the United States continues to go the way of all Europe, the people’s rebellion against the present intellectual leadership will be perverted, and rechanneled into an opposite course.”
Their cancerous collectivism has metastasized to America, primarily by the Democrats, leading to malignant welfare state policies. Without an uncompromising system that recognizes and protects individual rights, the European Union and its neighboring countries are in freefall, losing their sovereignty, freedoms, and autonomous identities. Their history, culture, and prosperity are eroding from uncontrolled immigration, weakened monetary exchanges, intransigent class systems, Chinese and Russian influence, internal political struggles, and the “home court advantage” of wealthy global elites.
The metaphorical direction of the journey needed for our self-preservation, and guiding the actions so essential for the survival of our great country, and universally, for Western Civilization, was best said by Horace Greeley in 1865: “Go west, young man.”

I find it very interesting philosopher Peikoff being able to see "uncontrolled immigration" in Europe 50 years ago as very interesting. Me dino thinks I gradually became aware of the overall self-inflicted erosion of Europe over the last 15 years.
I've been encouraged by the way Trump has given the USA a patriotism shot in the arm. That has brightened my hope for this still barely a republic's future.
Just to today hear my most ardently conservative of brothers say, "When the Democrats take back over there will be hell to pay."
Also just yesterday, I heard Trump say the Democrat party has become our worst threat to the United States.
As for Horace Greeley 1865 saying "Go west, young man," that has by now been completely eroded by what has become of California.

        You are absolutely right.
This morning I read an article either in Fox Breaking News or in my email (my memory has been showing signs of old age) that Trump has designated our (after Iran) next most dangerous enemy as the Democrat Party.
        Me dino agrees 100%!
Think suicidal Muslims are crazy? At least they don't with a straight face strut around saying men can get pregnant or would let their daughters share locker rooms with wannabe women with male genitals. Come to think of it, they would kill such limp-wristed mental malfunctions in a heartbeat. .

Europe gets away with this because America has traditionally stepped up and made it right, no matter the cost. America is that student that knows the answer and is eager to show it in the classroom of the world. Where as Europe are the cool kids who haven't read the material, honestly do not even know what the question is; yet, expect to get the better grades because of who their daddy is.

In the question of: Stupid or Complicit, one would always be wise by stating: BOTH!
They invented our foes so that they could continue to rule over us.
Now, we vanquish those invented foes therefore, their rule be vanquished as well.

I stand with Victor Hanson/Trump/the folks at Promethean and the downfall of the British System, therefore an America no longer it's Military slave.

"So, what’s going on? What explains this European schizophrenia? That they want to be an ally, but they don’t want to be an ally." Simple, they are Uncle Sam's friend as long as Uncle Sam picks up the tab for their own foolish decisions. Maybe Uncle Sam should stop being a patsy and cut 'em loose - kinda like tough love (or tough sh-t).

      Tough love indeed.
It's socialism on the grandest scale, and it ends in what socialism/communism always does: financial disaster, millions of deaths, and the end of civilization.

Last night I watched three videos produced by a very intelligent young lady, who I believe is a financial journalist. Sorry, as I write this I can't recall her name. When I get it I'll post it.

The first video was reporting on the causes (culminating with Mamdani) of the flight of Citibank et al from NYC and the effect on the regions economics. Thousands of jobs have left and thousands more are being planned to leave. The 14,000 jobs of Citi translates to over 20,000 jobs in the area as small businesses that served the Citi employees are going away. I agree with her opinion NYC has entered an economic death spiral as a direct result of (D) socialist/communist principles. NYS is entering the same phase under (D) leadership.

The second video covered Boston and the flight of GE leaving the same type of economic hole observed in NYC. Boston's Mayor Wu is a commie making sure the economic catastrophe continues by doubling down on increased taxation and fees levied on whoever remains. The death spiral accelerates.

The third video covers Baltimore, which is becoming a wasteland of crime and economic depression as more and more productive enterprises take the exit ramp to better areas. One financial company, now leaving, has to budget at least $45,000 a month to hire armed security so the employees can get to their cars without being mugged or worse.

The way I see it the common denominator of all these is an ideology that increasingly takes a strap to backs of the productive all the while cursing them for being "greedy" or "oppressive". In all these places the majority voted for the slave drivers and put the strap in their hands. No wonder the productive are leaving or dying. Those voters are now getting what they actually voted for.

I think a lot of the Euro leaders, police, local politicians, etc...are under the thumb of radical Islam. Pretty clear to me, if you just look at England's recent history. Look at what's happened in Germany, France... I'm more in favor of us being isolationist, vs policing the world. We're broke. We've got some real domestic challenges that we're not properly addressing. I'm not surprised by any of these developments, really.
