Whoa, that reminds me! Of me! And coin operated cigarette machines! Now it all comes back to me.
There were times when little Dino would pedal his little bicycle over to a gas station's cigarette machine, make sure no one looked my way, dropped in the correct coins, pulled the lever and~~hey, remember all the cigarette jingles advertised on TV like "Winston Takes Good Like A Cigarette Should." Those were the very first smokes I tried for some peculiar reason,.

How come both of you smoked cigars? Y'all part Irish like me? I started out with cigarettes but during my last years of poisoning myself I was smoking Swisher Sweets.
After I quit for good, I had to throw everything hanging in the closet into the washing machine to get all the lingering tobacco stink out.

Happy birthday tomorrow. I'll be 79 March 17 and the bandage nurse who came today said I look younger than that. But then so does everybody.
I'm a quarter Irish but on my Saint Patrick's Day birthday I become 100%. How? Leprechauns, I guess.

I must have quit a 1000 times, it was easy but never made it past a week or so, the last time, I prayed for a little help/distraction/ or anything to keep me from picking up another Hava tampa jewel. ( I liked the wooden tips). Evidentially, I got the help I asked for and never went back although I think about it often. I just think about how hard it was and don't want to ruin that victory.

I can still taste and smell it right now . . .

It was a bit different for me. I was always active and when I was 61 (birthday on March 3rd) I was still rollerblading in the mornings. I was visiting family in Florida and on March 4th, 2013 I went out in the morning and got really really short of breath and figured it had to be those damn cigars (sweet aromatic Backwoods Smokes), which I really really loved, but when I got back to the house I threw them all out and never went back. My loving wife, who never smoked (God bless her), says I was a real a--hole for about two weeks before I could hold a decent conversation. Like you, dino, I love tobacco but I know if I have one I'll start buying them again, so I must abstain. Bless you my friend and condolences on your loss.

Yeah, me too! It took a Chantix prescription to get me off my nicotine addiction during 2012.
I know if smoke so much as a celebratory cigar I'll be hooked again.
A lifetime of smoking buried my ex just last year and she's 10 years younger than me.

Ha, you make me laugh, OUC. I was a good kid until later in high school as I was one of "those boys" that couldn't wait for break time so I could go out for a smoke (one of the dumbest things I ever did, but in those days I was going to live forever, right?).

Most of the push back I got from the teachers (male and female) was my own hyper ass fault! Took me decades to learn how to control.
In many ways, Wolcott Conn was very different from the rest of the world.
Not so bad as I've come to appreciate, just wish I could have then . . .

Mine, too, at many times starting as early as the mid '50s. I still recall the time a girl in the 3rd grade changed some of the letters on a spelling paper of mine so I would get a lower score. Easy to see as her pencil was a lighter lead than mine and her handwriting was so different than mine (I'm left handed). When I went to show the teacher she turned her head and refused to look and said a girl wouldn't do that and told me to go sit down. I knew there was no fighting it because throughout the year she was always partial to girls and not very nice to the boys. A lesson learned early in life for me. Hard to believe, but at 74 I can still bring up that part of the image of that spelling paper in my mind.

SAVE us from the liberal white women indeed. I remember being a boy in grade school. The lunch ladies, the teachers, they were little boy-hating feminists who spiritually beat down the boys and rewarded the girls. That was my experience.

I was being pleasantly amused as I moved along this morning, especially with the new Lone Ranger and Tonto as well as AOC's millionaire socialists (hammer and sickle for the C is spot on), but clicking on the obese Gretta was a coffee spewer, LOL! Follow that up with the bust gag and more AOC wisdom and please please save from lefty white women (but are they all women - woman? What's a woman?). Thanks OUC!!!!!!
