I do take issue with the one regarding the Roads.
It is not a matter of poor engineering; rather, it is a problem with a political source.
The politicians are the ones that set and approve the budgets and can be cajoled into both hiring contractors that do poor work (subgrade materials) and then follow-up with inferior maintenance.
you know why the roman roads are still working...
Because we don't drive on them!
If you've ever driven over a long bridge, or a "seamed" highway. With that annoying thump.
Imagine driving across a BRICK ROAD, doing 80mph.
Now, compare concrete, and they win. Were still putting RUSTING METAL inside of ours and watching it destroy the concrete from the inside. I cross my fingers for Carbon Tubing...
LOVE the buying scientist one!!!!!!
Really like Kennedy comment - keep hoping!
The news was good, but too true!
Will Rogers comment was spot on....
And follow me for more financial advise!
Thanks OGC...
About the dino meme. A few years ago that same drawing had "philosoraptor" written on it and it was directed at me. Was that you?
Anyway, I took it as me dino's middle name. Dino Philosoraptor Allosaurus Esquire BS.
Picked up a Journalism BS with the GI Bill leaving the Marines. It really was a BS on paydays and for trying to for 7 years move up too.
Saw the writing on the wall when The Montgomery Advertiser's managing editor promised I'd have a job at the end of a hiring freeze.
After learning he hired someone fresh out of college for far less money, I'm now a well paid since 2005 a retired state employee of the Alabama Dept. of Corrections.
And I'm talking about a something I thought of within a split second!
