Yes, It is Snowing in New York A "Blizzard" Gives Marxist-Islamist Mayor Zohran Mamdani, Pretext for a "Climate Lockdown"

Excerpt:
"In spite of the fact that receiving up to two feet of snow in winter in New York City is entirely normal, the headlines drumming up hysteria have prepared the way for what is unfolding right now via City Hall, and via our still-new-on-the-job Marxist-Islamist Mayor, Zohran K Mamdani.

A pure Marxist-islamist rights takeover; a trial run.
...
Mamdani had, in less than a month in office, turned New York into a Dickensian cesspit, with New Yorkers dying Dickensian deaths from exposure; and with New Yorkers facing, to their horror, Dickensian levels of energized vermin, as well as sanitary dangers from standing waste, that we thought had been sorted out forever by the early 20th century.

So Mayor Mamdani, understandably, wished this time to get ahead of that kind of criticism.
...
“I want to be clear to all New Yorkers. Clearing snow and ice from the sidewalk is the responsibility of the adjacent property owner. Property owners must maintain a four-foot path to allow a stroller or a wheelchair to pass, and if the property sidewalks include an unsheltered bus stop or curb ramp, property owners are required to clear this as well. [Italics mine. This is a completely new requirement — for property owners, no matter if they are female, elderly or disabled, to be forced to clear snow from city bus stops and from curb ramps, or face “violations”, meaning fines. We pay taxes for this labor to be done by unionized members of the city’s work force. Is this demand yet another attack on property owners?]"

    Article well worth reading!

Something I noticed: "In a press conference on Sunday February 22, 2026, Mayor Mamdani showed a range of sombre city administrators arrayed behind him, all of them wearing sad faces and holding their hands clasped in front of them. " Hmmmm, now where have I seen this scene before? Oh yeah, pictures with Stalin or Mao!

Well, I certainly did not vote for this, or this guy ... I live in Arizona. I think there was some consensus, the New Yorkers are going to get what they voted for, yes? I figure that the quality of life in NY will continue to degrade until enough individuals decide to shrug.

Me dino thinks you figured right. Some hard lessons has to take up a lot of time before sinking in for enough people to wise up and to do something about it.
Yet also, that learning process can also be offset by too many stubborn Mamcommies who lack the common sense to learn squat.
Not to mention those who can't let go of power over others once they have it.

NY Is 100% the reason our forefathers warned us that we must have an educated populace.

When people are too dumb to predict and comprehend CONSEQUENCES... They will vote for Gallows, and weave their own nooses thinking they are hanging their neighbors, and will get to divide what is left amongst themselves.

Remember: AOC Knows socialism works, because HER and ALL of her socialist friends are Millionaires! The bigger the Socialist (Sanders), the more they have!

My curse to the wealthy leftists: "When your socialist/communist dreams come true may all your wealth be confiscated and spread around for the greater good. May the keys to your fancy cars and mansions be shared with anyone who needs transportation or a place to live, after all you didn't make those things so why should you be the only one to have them?". That's almost taking the words out of their idol Obummer's mouth!

Why not. NYC has been supported by corruption and thieves for more than a century.
Time for just desserts. I hope the innocent and ethical rationally move soon.

Many of the innocent and ethical rationally people have always felt they did not have the money or assets to move. Soon they will realize they do not have the assets to stay!

This is true. It's a tough decision being between a rock and a hard place. In my 70s living in western NY it's a huge expense and risk to escape, but the slow creep of communism is making it expensive and risky to stay. It wasn't always like this here where I was born and raised, but things are changing! Some of the problems are nation wide like inflation and fiat currency and obummercare ruining the health insurance system (my health care premiums are nearly double), so it matters not where you are.

I will argue you do NOT have "health care" premiums.
            You have "Health Insurance" premiums.

I did the math on what Health Insurance will cost us (59 & 63) until we die.
We opted out. We have DNRs. Nobody in my family BEFORE my father had "Health Insurance"... When United REFUSED to pay for my medical bills (the first time I went way over my deductible) after 12+ years of paying the premiums... You realize you are NOT truly insured! I paid > $15K out of pocket that year, plus $12K in premiums (Just for MY insurance, my wife had a separate policy).

SHOCKER: Dropping insurance, we've noticed the Rx costs WENT DOWN!
If you have Rx insurance, I 100% recommend (my daughter does this, now).
You go to ANOTHER unrelated pharmacy. And do NOT register your insurance with them. Tell them you are uninsured. Things like Metformin are $30/mo with insurance, and $6-8/month without it! (AND the pharmacist is NOT allowed to tell you that it's cheaper without your insurance, or that it is your insurance making the price go up!!!)

Obviously this was 3-4 years ago we dropped the insurance. We are willing to take the risk because both of us would prefer to stay outside the system than LIVE IN the system at this price point.

The average person spends 80% of their LIFETIME medical care in their last 6 months of life, and Medical Expenses are the #1 cause of Bankruptcy in America.

And it 100% matters where you are. In the hills of TN, for example, you can easily pay a doctor directly for service and get much better rates than in NY City or any big city. But there is certainly a cost to moving.

You are correct. I must have had a brain skip while stewing over obummercare while typing, LOL.

Your insight on Rx costs sans insurance is interesting. I understand the inflated prices for the insured. True story: About 40 years ago my employer did not offer dental insurance and dentists would charge about $22 for a cleaning, which was paid out of pocket. Then my employer got dental insurance which paid up to $22 for a cleaning. Within six months dentists were charging $44 for a cleaning - $22 from insurance and $22 out of pocket. No gain for the serfs. Today, retired, I do not have dental insurance and a cleaning is about $160!

Yeah, I cut my cleanings down to once a year.
I do what I can to keep the plaque down.

I am lucky. I've had ONE cavity in the last 6-8 years.

But insurance ONLY drives prices higher.

Hold On. They've spent decades explaining it.
More CO2 = More Heat. Runaway heat will melt the ice at the south pole and raise the oceans.

So, please explain how "More CO2 = More Snow".
Make it make sense for me.

Because you are just proving you are liars about the Climate Change Hoax. Al Gore was wrong on EVERY prediction. (Still SNOW on those mountains, Still have skiing in the USA, FL is NOT under water, etc. etc. etc.)

And finally. If HUMAN CO2 footprints were important. Then the LEFT would never support allowing 30 MILLION illegals go from a NEAR ZERO Carbon Footprint to the USA (giving them the highest Carbon Footprint possible)...

EVEN IF their children were starving, etc. etc.

Because if the left believes in ANYTHING. It is that killing humans to save our planet is perfectly okay. The fewer humans, the better.

Again. Their ACTIONS confirm their lies. They NEVER believed C02 was the end of us. It was a tool to cripple capitalism and fund their friends!

I got up yesterday morning to a rare and beautiful sunshiny day here in western NY only the temperature was 11degF. Our area hasn't yet received the global warming memo. Sigh.

While visiting Kyoto Recently, we were hit with the RARE Snow Storm. Decades since they last saw snow like that. It cancelled two of our outings!

Now you all know why they changed the name from "Global Warming" to "Climate Change". The latter is so generic as to make it visible anywhere.

Growing up near Detroit in the 70s. I remember 28 inches of snow in one day. We had 3 days of school cancelled. We made an IGLOO that was 5 foot tall in our backyard. Every neighborhood friend was helping. (We had a big field across the street). It was the MOIST packable snow. They would ROLL up a big wheel of snow, put it on the sled, and drag it to the back yard.

It was a super rare storm to drop that much snow. A few years back, I remember a slightly lesser storm there, and the news was reporting "We've never seen this kind of weather... So extreme." With the masses parroting this baloney.

A well phrased attack or lie, works best without DETAILS that allow it to be attacked. (Calling Trump DARK worked. Because the meaning of Dark is malleable to each person. Everyone can pick what they mean, and NOBODY can make a single statement that refutes everyone's internally held belief). BTW, this is the essence of brand marketing. "Built RAM Tough". Ever drive an actual ram 5,000 miles fully loaded. It would die.
But most people think of the horns and the bony head... (When was the last time you needed to RAM your truck into something to get home?)

FWIW. Enjoy the weather while you can.
I believe historians will mark these days as the days that lead to (or preceded) "some kind of new world order".

"Now you all know why they changed the name from "Global Warming" to "Climate Change". The latter is so generic as to make it visible anywhere." For sure, but I like relating that in the '70s it was global cooling and NYC was going to be under a glacier by 2000 and because it was all our fault they had to restrict our rights and tax us more to combat it. By the '90s they knew that wasn't going to happen so they switched to global warming and NYC was going to be under water by 2020 and because it was all our fault they had to restrict our rights and tax us more to combat it. Somewhere around 2010 they realized that wasn't going to happen so climate change was invented and because whatever it was going to do it was all our fault and they had to restrict our rights and tax us more to combat whatever changes were coming. Shakes head, sigh.

Never had a problem with my '04 Ram with the V8 Hemi and hauled stuff thousands of miles for nearly 20 years before I gave it to my grandson and he's still driving it on the job.

Me the dino had two thoughts after reading this here stuff.
    1. Commies have zero respect for any duties assigned to property owners because they do not respect or even believe in private property for their captive wards of the state.
    2. Anything Charles Dickens that Mamcommie has devolved into things called "Dickensian" makes the repressed adolescent in me dino think of a body part that New Yorkers are gonna keep getting again and again.

The way I see it, commies believe in communal (i.e. state) ownership of all property and confiscatory taxation and draconian regulation is one way to force out private ownership (except for themselves, of course). This implementation to get property into the hands of the state is more fascist than communist, but hey, any means to an end, right? Enslaving people to do the states will is nothing new for commies, which illustrates your point #1. Heh heh, your #2 pretty much sums it up as "Dickensian" describes a time when royalty (essentially the state) owned most of everything and all the serfs had to pay the royal rent. It's almost as if we lost the Rev War anyway in the end. The people of NYC have voted to put their own heads in the noose and are getting what they voted for.

That noose has not been spaced sideways to mercifully provide a quick snapping of the neck either.
New Yorkers (at least the smarter ones) are going to contemplate the error of their ways as a smiling Mamcommie goes medieval slowly tightening his tyrannical noose.
