Democracies Never Last

Domestic Tranquility never lasts in a democracy. It's the reason the United States is founded as a Constitutional Republic – NOT a Democracy nor the democratic Republic alleged by the political elite.

The Constitution is written to restrain government and its Preamble tells how: “...establish Justice, ensure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity.”

These are the five hallmarks of a free state. Corrupt any, and this nation shall fall prey to an oligarchy – unless it finds the strength to restore the Republic to itself and to the States within.

In a free state, the free market becomes your VOTE to promote the general welfare, ensure domestic tranquility, and the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity.

      The words of Lord Tytler Woodhouselee appears eerily prophetic. The Scottish judge, writer, professor, and historian described the cyclical stages of democracy. He portrayed societies moving from bondage to spirituality to courage to liberty to abundance to complacency to apathy to dependence, and back to bondage.

        I am not prophet but currently it appears to me that lunacy of the left is only waking up the ire of the Silent Majority (or those with any common sense intact.)

        Reverse science: Picking a question to suit a list of conclusions:

        LGBTQ - good
        Trump - bad
        Christian - bad
        Islam - victim
        Black - victim
        Hispanic - victim, unless conservative
        Asian - Exception to victim rule. Ignore unless they also support all other victims
        Guns - bad
        ICE - bad
        Law Enforcement - bad if admin is conservative, good if admin is progressive
        Totalitarianism - Great, if government is progressive.
        ...

    Its unfortunate but I think we are at a stage of corruption that this is now necessary. These "elites" in the semi-released Epstein files are far more sadistic and self-serving. They will never be prosecuted until we demand that they are. All of them, it doesn't matter who they are, actions have consequences.

    Nicely written, but some problems are built into the Constitution such as the preamble clearly states "promote" the general welfare but Article 1 section 8 states "provide" the general welfare. Free America can go along with the "promote", but clearly the commies love the "provide".

    The preamble: "We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

    Article 1 section 8: "The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States..."

      I personally think that this is our biggest challenge, the unequal levy of taxes and benefits. Corruption, special interests and a welfare state are all the result,

      I think everyone should pay the same flat percentage of income taxes or you get a proportional vote based on your income tax bracket. I don't know if you have noticed but the inmates are running the insane asylum. All of these government programs to subsidies the cost cause it to go through the roof for the non-moocher types, causing more and more to go on the tit.

          The scary thing is the amendment bringing on the income tax is basically a one-liner, but it gave birth to 80 thousand pages of tax code and a giant standing army to enforce all that gobble-de-goop. Not to mention sucking up nearly a trillion dollars annually for the nations people and businesses to comply to the behemoth.

      Yes! We certainly have our challenges. Those in the Constitution I like to call “graffiti” and, as you point out, they're found several places in the Document (and Amendments). Few may result from imprecise word choice or a consequence of word meaning shift. Others are glaring. But, in all cases, the meaning must be consistent with the document's purpose (stated in the Preamble) otherwise ignored as graffiti.

    The current generation of stupid could care less how to retore the Republic. Spoiler -- solution is a Convention of the states and the Amendment process.
