This is always good advice. I have an insurance policy for self-defense especially if using a weapon. There first advice is name, date and I have a lawyer. "I can only confirm my name, my birthdate and that I have a lawyer... Please stop asking me questions until my lawyer is present"
No to all searches. Be prepared to turn over any weapon. Be careful to NOT answer any questions.
cops will use: "So you were attacked..." type questions to get you to start answering. "Do you live at..."
In fact, hand them your license, and SHUT UP. Your only answer is "ASK MY LAWYER".
Yeah, there is a plethora of video clips out there of cops really overstepping their bounds. It's as though there aren't any bounds anymore. Bullying, ranting and raving, detaining people for no reason. When I was 16 I was detained by a game warden up in Washington for no damn reason - for 2 hours. I'll never forget that. My brother, 15, was with me. A few years later I heard that some game wardens up there were having some misfortune and I wasn't surprised one bit. I've had a couple of what I'd call "alpha dog incidents" with cops. I've never even gotten a speeding ticket. Did have a cop lie about me when I was about 13. Had to go to juvi court where I told the judge the cop was simply wrong...and I got away with it, surprisingly. That was a lesson, though. Good buddy of mine is retired secret service. I won't even repeat some of his stories... You'd be shocked at the mindset...
