My guess is it's because the Main Stream Marxist Media (MSMM) is in the pocket of the left and no politician can stand getting crucified in the media for very long even if they are standing up for what is right. Therefore, the conservative politicians, who are the ones getting crucified, cave. We are seeing the lizard king, Schumer, can stand his evil ground because he is held up in the MSMM - screw the people.

I'm pretty sure that "Atlas Shrugged" showed what compromise can lead to. John Galt and company never compromised their core beliefs to get ahead. They gave up lucrative businesses and careers to protect their principles. Compromise is the tool of control.
