When Medicaid Is In The Donald’s No Spending Cuts Zone, There Is Zero Chance of Significantly Reducing Spending

Excerpt:
"At some point a clarifying event occurs which confirms that you are at the end of the road. In this particular case we are talking again about the bothersome subject of fiscal sanity—and the exclamation point the Donald supplied this morning when his was trolling the House GOP caucus in behalf of his Big Beautiful Bill.

In order to ensure the extension of his precious (but unpaid for) 2017 tax cut and provide budgetary sanction for a 13% increase in defense spending and 60% rise in outlays for border control, the Donald doesn’t want any “grandstanders” upsetting the works:

“Don’t f‑‑‑ around with Medicaid,” Trump told lawmakers in the private meeting. Trump had told reporters before the meeting that the bill is not cutting “anything meaningful (from Medicaid),” and instead was focused on “waste, fraud and abuse.”

Well, let’s see. Along with his defense and border control increases, Trump has ruled out cuts in Social Security, Medicare, veterans benefits and presumably interest on the public debt. So those sacred cows alone account for fully $62 trillion or 66% of total Federal spending over the next 10-years, and today he was commanding the corporal’s guard of fiscal hawks left in the GOP caucus to stay away from another $8.2 trillion in Medicaid spending over the decade, too."

Trump's Big B%^& Bill is economic suicide for Americans.
Stockman is absolutely correct.
Kill the Bill and cut spending by no less than $1 trillion a year.
Any other action invites much higher interest rates on US fedgov debt and economic disaster.

I do believe there is a mechanism in place to identify cheaters, nonpersons, and unqualified recipients.
What DOGE successfully identified was the degree of waste fraud and abuse.

The powers that be can stop payments to people who shouldn't be getting Medicare/Medicaid, that is not the same as "cutting spending to the program",
It is dispensing the funds only to those people who it rightfully belongs to.

So how is spending being cut significantly when military spending goes up and there are no cuts in socsec, medicare, and medicaid?

        From Stephen Miller at Whitehouse.Gov
There’s no pork in the bill. The bill has been public for weeks. Every single provision is just one campaign pledge, one promise, one campaign vow after another. The ONLY new spending in the bill is to secure the homeland of the United States and save American sovereignty — fully paid for, by the way, by increased visa fees on foreigners. […]
The 2017 Trump Tax Cuts were rightly hailed as one of the conservative movement’s great victories. How much greater would we say that victory was if it also included full funding for the border wall? What if it also included full funding for deportation? What if it also defunded transgender surgeries nationwide? What if it also had the first-ever endowment tax on America’s corrupt institutions of higher learning? What if that bill also had No Tax on Tips, No Tax on Overtime, No Tax on Social Security? What if that bill also created the strongest framework for energy deregulation in American history? What if that bill also created the first-ever system for the Department of Defense to be involved in the defense of our southern border? In other words, one policy win after another — plus the tax cuts. Nothing like this has ever been done before in the history of the conservative movement. This bill is electric. […]
A rational person should be able to say, ‘Wow, it is amazing this bill accomplishes the full tax agenda, the full border agenda, the full immigration agenda, the full energy agenda, large portions of the trans and de-woke-ifying agenda, large portions of the higher ed agenda, also cancels the Green New Deal, also cancels the student loan bailout, also has the largest welfare reform in history. You can acknowledge all that — and then if you want to be an even greater fiscal hawk, say, ‘But I’d like to cut more!’ But to pretend this bill includes pork — there’s no pork in the bill. It’s been public for weeks, and the only provisions you will find in the bill are campaign promises.”

With all due respect to S Miller, his reply is opinion without details.
Even so, I understand the follow-thru on many of the 'promised' programs and lowering of taxes
as promised. I'm not fine with a $144 billion/yr increase of military expenditures when the military
expenditures are already over $800 billion/yr of pork barrel.
See this detailing the increase: ( https://www.crfb.org/blogs/breaking-d... )
Eliminate the increase in military spending and in the next budget cut another $100 billion/yr
(cut benefits to undeserving MIC and EU foolish bureaucrats.)
There is as much waste in military spending as in medicaid and medicare
(which benefits only undeserving Pharma and Insurance.)
Kill the unmitigated disaster of Obamacare as the GOP promised 9 years ago as a start.
Stockman's comments are entirely rational (and patriotic), not MSM garbage or childish
school-yard gibberish like the recent Trump-Musk spat.

In a word: Uniparty. The parties are joined at the hip here in the world of smoke and mirrors.

"They" have sold us the notion that with the appropriate government program we will live with 100% good health with 100% coverage and we will live forever. Here we have a virtually infinite demand on a very finite resource. As much as I'd like to believe it to be possible, good luck with that.
