WARNING: A FAST CME with southern magnetics headed our way

Heads Up!
With our shields weakened 30% we don't know exactly what to expect, (level 4 for sure), I guess we'll find out; Tom Bodell may not be able to keep the lights on for ya.

Just be aware

Note: Betelgeuse is about to nova (likely just like what our sun will be doing soon) but the rhetoric is a bit much. Elon thinks part of earth will experience disturbances . . . we'll see.
I am not convinced.

Yes, cloudy here also. In the last few years, most nights are cloudy, a clear starlit night has become a rarity.

    Coronal Mass Ejection,
This one was directed toward Earth, (we've been lucky to only be grazed by some bad ones.) and it was Fast, got here in a day, (opposed to a couple of days) but thankfully, it wasn't very dense. Still, it caused a level 4 storm (because our shields are 30% weakened) which would be indicative of a large X class flair.

Thanks, mhubb. The second link with the story of the telegraph between Boston and Portland working without batteries connected was very interesting.

Thanks, OUC. The only thing I heard on the news was the Northern lights may be more intense and active last night from my location (southern shore of Lake Ontario), but it was cloudy/hazy so I slept through it, LOL.

I know some damage was done somewhere on earth in the weeee hours of this morning, (talk about a FAST CME!) scoured the interweb off and on today and . . . Crickets, Crickets! during a KP 8 solar storm.
    Shaking my head.

Shouldn't be surprised though, they still blame "Climate Change/Global Warming" for the week outage in Spain and Portugal when it was clearly the solar wind making it's way through a weak spot in our shields.

So, you are correct, unless we experience it ourselves, they will never tell us what happened.

I could only watch (no sound) the report today, but you got to see the data! it's mind boggling: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iVheS...

will be listening right after I post IN THE MEME TYME: Delusional

Unless something happens to us personally, I wonder if we will know if anything happened at all.

If just solar wind can take out a countries grid due to our weak shields then I guess we best pay attention.
Just passing the info on, not making any predictions.
